Ornate clothes hooks

Does anyone know where I can purchase ornate hooks for clothes? A Victorian type or just something other than the typical boring hook. I plan to use it in my bedroom just to hang an outfit I would be wearing for the next day. Looking for something ornate, or fancy. Did several searches but nothing other than the ordinary type clothes hooks.

the frame may be worth more than the portrait. Unless you can identify who the protrait is, it has little value except as a sample of the art of that period. I own a portrait of my g-grandamother this is similar except it is a print on cardboard. I can't tell by the posted image alone; It requires a close view of the actual object. So here's my guess: It was made after the Civil War ca 1870- 1880. It may be a photographic print on canvas. The print may have been enhanced by a artist. Examine your picture at the sleeve ruffs and the hair. Does it look hand drawn with charcoal and soft pencils? It was common to draw in fancy clothing on the model. The model may have worn a simple dress and the artist added ruffs and sometimes lace. In your portrait, the high collar could have been added. Sometinmes the print was made light and the artist used the light print as a guide to paint/draw the portrait. On my protrait, it is obvious that my g-grandmother's hair had extensive pencil work and lace was added to the dress collar. However, by 1880, it was no longer necesary to touch up dull photo images. Your portrait has been damaged by water stains. However, if the image was a notable historic figure such as Susan B. Anthony, it would stiil have some value.

Ange, we had a similar situation with 12" molding that extends along the ceiling plane about 8" in towards the center of the room. We ended up finding a thin rod from Renovation hardware, but it was only 12 feet long. Your 18' length will def be a custom item. If it is fabricated in sections make sure you can put a support at the join. Initially, we ordered a custom wrought iron rod from a blacksmith in California (we are in GA) and the join fell right where there was a wood keystone for the arched top of the center window. There was no place to attach the support bracket and we were relieved that that rod would go in DS's room, which we were also redoing. Felt lucky to find the RH rod that was reasonable after spending so much on the custom item that could not be installed. I'm afraid that experience convinced me that I should stick with the designer for window treatments. Of course, I can't sew and don't have the talent to devise my own treatments....you probably would have spotted the problem and not ordered the rod I chose in the first place! Those chairs are knockouts, and I look forward to seeing the curtain material.

Nicole do I see a Fleur-de-lis on the table in the scroll work? It's gorgeous! Lots of great deals. I went to goodwill today and scored a few deals. I got a brand new with tags, Lands End reversible Down coat for $9.99! I got a few cute tops that were 75% off today so about a dollar each. Got 2 new Santa's to add to my Christmas collections. There was a Salton Belgian waffle maker, new, for $3. I didn't buy it unfortunately. I just don't have much storage space in this house. Congrats on the deals everyone!

Go to amazon.com. Search for coat hooks.
I have this one in black. Think less than $10.
I've had great experiences with amazon and I love reading the reviews before I buy.

If you're looking for something funky how about the hand of Buddha? I found this one on ebay and it's going in my new bathroom. I couldn't resist. Best part? It came wrapped in a copy of a Kathmandu newspaper!

I thought about that. So far I haven't hung anything on it and may never do so. But I was told by the person who sent it that these are used as door handles and it is not considered disrespectful. Even if I never hang anything on it I just like it. :-)

I don't buy from Anthropology because they are not at all what they pretend to be. With the name and their lofty look to their stores and many of their "earthy-looking" pieces I believe they are trying to make people think that they are a simple shop with artisan goods, fair trade even. They are anything but that. High priced crap describes them a lot better. I don't know if they're fooling anybody, but anything affordable there is usually junk.

oooooh - some neat ones at Anthro!

I am not particularly a fan of hobby lobby, but I did find some great knobs in there. They have all kinds of unique knobs and I am thinking I also some hooks. You might check there.

A DIY that you can easily do and get what you're looking for...Purchase a wooden unfinished wall plaque at the craft store-paint or stain to your preference. Add hooks on the back for hanging. Then-check out Ebay, etc. for glass doorknobs. By simply screwing them into the plaque, you can either hang your garment on the knob or get a couple pretty covered hangars for the clothes-that way the knobs will show. Justa' thought.

Are you near a Hobby Lobby? They have quite a variety, and the prices are very reasonable as well as having that vintage look.
