My little Perfume cabinet...lots of Pics

It's finally done...we used the left over white oak flooring.

We used everything we had on hand, even the jeweled knob I made

from a pendent I had, I just

epoxyied it to a wood knob. The little hinges

we also had on hand. There is something to be said for being a pack rat!

We did have lots of problems however, we made two doors and one side we made twice...don't ask...

We used chip glass on the sides and for the backround in the front. The top

is clear glass. I was originally planning on using red glass trimmed in aqua glass (like the front) but didn't take into consideration the light coming in from the top gave everything a red glow. Actually, clear glass will let in the most light during the day and at night as well (from the lamp on my end table).

It was Cliff's idea to make the back wall glass, and what a good idea

was. (I can't believe I didn't think of it)The mirror reflects a lot of light and brightens the piece up quite a lot.

It also holds a lot more than I imagined, so that was a pleasent surprise.

I hope you like it. The size is just right, I think.

I just have to rub it down more, truthfully it is about 98% dry...

I picked up the jeweled pendant in the thrift store for 3.00 a while ago...

As you know our next project is going to be making bedside tables...this little cabinet is going on my night stand...

I put clear glass on the top to pick up light from the windows and also from the lamp at night.

The light inside is my night light that I keep lit on my bedside table all night.

Now I'll keep it in the cabinet, and it will glow at night :)

This is it before installing all the glass and the front door.
