Manipulation again

Hello, Just a question for all of you. Here is the situation. I feel SS is manipulating again. It is my DH birthday today we had a nice family party last night. Tonight were staying home and just relaxing when in comes a call on my DH cell phone from SS girlfriend's single mother (call her Jane). She wanted to wish my DH a happy birthday. Now this Jane is not even a close friend and we do not spend time with her. SS does because of his girlfriend. One of the 3-4 times in the last 5 months we have seen her she seems to talk to DH as if I am not present. With things like, I told SS to invite Dad to this event, but my name is never mentioned. Also, 1 of the times SS did get DH to come to Jane's house alone to pick him up and instead Jane came out and had to show DH the garage she is having building. Jane in the last 2-3 months broke up with her boyfriend. The reason I know this is SS told DH and DH told me when we were casually discussing SS & girlfriend and Jane. Now, I feel this was an inappropriate call tonight. Like I said we are not close to this women. Jane said SS, girlfriend and her were visiting and SS mentioned it was DH birthday so she calls. I don't see a need for this. Call it women's intuition but I have a funny feeling about this. I fully trust my husband, but, not her or SS. I know it takes 2. I told husband I thought it unappropriate and stange. DH said it was weird and said next time if she calls he is going to hand me the phone. Why didn't she call me on my birthday if she is a friend? I think she might start trying to call DH by using SS as a conversation piece to get friendly with DH. I guess I just want to know what others think. What would you do? Please let me know if I am too insecure or do I have merit here. Just a note SS has tried numerous things to break us up over the last 6 years. This to me feels like another attempt. Thanks in advance for options/advise.
