Thank you for your replies. I am leaning toward a very soft gray with some green undertone for the cabinets. It's just that there are sooo many choices. Love the gray cabinets photos, Jrueter. Pickle - I will check out Farrow & Ball paints, hopefully someone around here carries them, and see if I can find a BM match. Scrappy - I am familiar with crema marfil; there's also botticino in the same beige family. I'm not sure how common they are as slabs, usually it's all tiles. If you are looking for a beige marble slab, check out travertino romano. I have my heart set on white marble, so back to the drawing board. Thanks again everyone, keep the ideas coming!

what is the wood species of your island....and what is the perimeter in your space? I think because it's the island, I might pick a slightly lighter stain and have them glaze it,as long as you have some detail for the glaze to lay on. For an island, this kind of a detail, not complicated to achieve ,would be actually easier at this point than the trial and error trying to find just the right pigment to"allow" grain toshow......and really on the island, being below counter, not sure it's going to be appreciated so much...up on the walls where light hits and your eyes naturally get the full on view is a different matter. It's just going to look dark below the counter once you go that dark with an all over stain.....so add café or dark bronze glaze to a medium-dark stain......easy!

With the gauntlet gray on the siding, and white on the trim, windows, and post, I'd keep the garage doors white. I think the contrast would be nice since they are surrounded by the stone, but the gauntlet gray could also work. I'd order them in white and you can decide when they're installed. You could use white on the front door, but I think that would look really bland. I'd either choose a stained finish or pick a color you like so it becomes a focal point. Red, blue, or black could work. You never said what color your roof was. Hopefully it's a dark charcoal, darker than the gauntlet gray?
