'Questionnaire'?

I'm right now debating in my head whether or not to propose a little "questionaire" thread with maybe 5-10 questions about things like where we're from, our hobbies and interests, our political views, etc. I know we had the "meet the posters on this board" thread (with ages and number of SK's, etc) and even the "what do you look like?" thread, both of which were interesting. On the one hand I think it would be cool to know a bit more about each other beyond just basic stats. On the other hand, it's also kind of nice having the relative anonymity and ability to post things WITHOUT potentially being labelled as such-and-such because of our 'demographics' or leanings. Also, I'm sure some posters would want to maintain their privacy (for several reasons) and we wouldn't want anyone to feel pressured to answer things they're not comfortable discussing. On the one hand it's been very nice that we haven't lurched full-throttle into talking politics given the current American election season, but on the other hand that shouldn't be a taboo subject, either (at least not in my opinion). I guess I wouldn't want our little haven for discussing stepfamily issues to get too sidetracked with this other stuff... but it could be interesting...

What does everyone think about the idea of a questionnaire that everyone would have the option as to whether to answer it or not, or to answer some questions but not others? Or should we just skip it entirely and maintain some mystery?
