And yes the Canadian federal election is coming up even before the American election. Although I have been paying attention to both. Can you tell me which parties are running in the Canadian election serenity and who the leaders of which parties are?

The debate is actually this Thursday. Sorry, I still can't stand Mr. PotatoHead--Barack Obama. But hey that's just me.

Colleen, I must absolutely confess my total American ignorance on the Canadian candidates. My whole visualization of Canada is pathetic, really, and I'm the first to admit it. In my mind's eye it's like 'another America' sitting right on top of the U.S., to the extent that I keep forgetting that the southern parts of Canada are COLD.... like they're supposed to be hot like Florida or Texas because it's the 'bottom' of the 'other America'.... how idiotic is that? Feel free to properly school me and others about Canada as much as you like, seriously!

Actually the province of Ontario, where I currently reside is on the same parallel as California which also surprised me when I found that out.

Mainly we live in Igloos and chew on Whale fat:) Igloos aren't even that bad eh. Get a fire going high enough you can actually take that thing into a melting pot of water and slush. Then you got nowhere to put your beer!

And also we like to drink beer eh. Have another beer ya hoser. What beer do you like? Well Canadian eh. Take off eh:P

Colleen, If I was from Canada, I d vote for Dion, because the song The Wanderer was much cooler than Harper Valley PTA....My sister was living in Montreal and married a Frenchman, whom when he came to visit drank up every expensive thing in my liquor cabinet, and had my 3 year old thinking Mais No was an acceptable answer to every question asked.....So I totally have an unfavorable opinion of Canada folk (except for grandpa, who was born in Ste St Marie) :)

I currently live in the GTA here in Ontario. Born and raised in Montreal. Miss the bagels, Montreal Smoked Meat, the Pizza (can't get anything at all like it here), steamies (steamed hot dogs), and oh, the cheeses too of course. I don't like Poutine at all. :)

talking about Canada..."Oh, Canada..."

Canada is across the river from us, I can see it if I go to the city, we are actually technically North from Canada :) so for me Canada is just "something right there across the river". lol I drive to work by a bridge to Canada everyday. I did travel a bit to Ontario. But don't know much. I did like that they use metric system!

It is funny I did a project on canadian political system few years ago and am embarassed to say that i remember very little :(

I use to hear the term bunnyhug alot when I lived in Alaska. I was closer to Canada than my home town those three years:)

Of COURSE I wear bunnyhugs. We spent two years in Saskatchewan while hubby was working at the University.

I dont know what people are thinking, calling them hoodies.

At least the other Canadians on the board know what a double double is. And a two four.

To help compensate for my ignorance about Canada, I hereby solemnly swear to refer to those things previously known as "hoodies" as BUNNYHUGS! And when other people ask me what I'm talking about and I tell them, then will be in the know and hopefully spread the word too!

I have to say, every time Ceph says something about being in a Bunnyhug I get a mental picture of her in those one piece, footed PJ's because we call those Bunnysuits. Always makes me smile.

And it's a Hoodie because it has a HOOD not a BUNNY on the back!! :-)
