Can I Ask for Prayers & Good Thoughts Here?

My brother Martin's oldest son Adam & his only grandson, Adam's son Michael, were killed yesterday in a car crash.

Adam's maternal grandfather tried to pass in a no-passing zone & met a tow truck head-on.

Both drivers swerved, but in the same direction.

The other driver was treated & released, & Adam's grandfather is still in the hospital.

Adam's grandmother was killed, & Adam, his son Michael, & Michael's 3-year-old cousin were ejected from the van as it rolled.

The 3-year-old was in a car seat.

Investigators couldn't tell if the others were wearing seat belts because the seats were ripped from the van & ejected, too.

They had been on a holiday trip, & were just 44 miles from home.

My brother is a wreck today, but he's not as shocky as he was last night.

Thoughts & prayers gratefully appreciated.

Please please please, hug your dear ones, & don't let anyone drive when they're tired.

Sylvia, I am so very sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I am especially praying for Adam's wife, as well as the parents of Michael's cousin.

Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts. She may get out of the Critical Care Unit, and on to a regular floor, if they can find a room for her. They're bringing in a infectious disease doctor too, but the antibiotics seem to be doing the trick. She's on Leviquin (sp) which is one of the most powerful one out there (I think). Also, checking why her immune system is so low. This makes about the 3rd time this winter with pneumonia, for her. She never takes care of herself when shes sick, and lets it go to long. Long story, but she has her 2 grown sons living with her and her husband in a 1 bedroom, (plus a sm. computer room) apt. The oldest is to have hip replacement tomorrow around 1:00. He's been on steroids for a long time, and broke his hip jumping off a pickup at work. Sorry, getting off the topic here. Again, thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. They are so appreciated. Thanks. My other brother called after David came home from the appointment. He is already looking for another spaniel. He said something about the vet knowing someone who had some. I'm glad he's getting another dog. He lives alone and Brutis was the only other one in the house with him. ) :

Hi everyone, I posted an update about the Giz-man. I did notice that it seemed to fall to the 2nd or 3rd page pretty quickly.....I guess this place has been busy lately!! He got a shot, some antibiotics to take home, and some kind of oral rinse, which he is not happy about. He goes in next Wed. for a complete dental, all his lab work looked great the vet said, except for elevated white blood cells. She did not rule out that it could still be cancer. So we will hope and pray for the best. I can tell he feels better, and he hasn't pawed at his mouth at all, also when I sneak a peek in, like when he yawns (ha ha ) it isn't red anymore, so maybe, just maybe, we are going to be o.k. My thoughts and prayers are most definately with you and yours... I am so sorry ... I will most definately hug and kiss my loved ones as soon as I get home .... I know this is terrible.. just remember to breathe that is about all you can do right now...

Oh Sylvia, I just saw this. Please accept my deepest sympathy. I will be praying for all of you tonight. What a terrible tragedy. So often you see this on holiday weekends.

I'm so sorry. I pray the Lord will ease your pain and the pain of all members of this family. We've all heard that people claim time will help. What I've found is that the pain never truly goes away, but that time allows your body to grow accustomed to dealing with the pain.

An extra kiss for my little ones this evening...God Bless.

Oh, Sylvia, I am so very, very sorry. I have no adequate words, but I am sending strength and prayers to you, your brother, and your entire family. Things like this just make no sense at all.

Sylvia--What a tragedy. I am so sorry for your loss. It must be very hard for your family to grasp what has happened. I will pray for you.

Thanks to all of you for your compassionate hearts;
your condolences mean a lot to me, & I've passed your words on to my brother to give to the rest of the family.

The funeral is tomorrow, Thursday.

My nephew & his son are to be buried together.

Again, hug your dear ones.

I can't even begin to imagine the heartbreak and void. I am so sorry for you and your family. My heart goes out to you and you all will be in my prayers.
If I could take some of the pain for you, I would as I know too well that feeling.

4 years ago, I lost my dear cousin and her son to a similar accident. They were driving home from a vacation and her husband fell asleep at the wheel and rolled their vehicle. My cousin was 9 months pregnant and had taken her seatbelt off to be comfortable and her 13 year old son had taken his seatbelt off to lay down in the seat and sleep. They were both thrown from the car and killed along with the baby my cousin was carrying. Her other 4 children and their father survived. It is devastating. I tell people all the time...if you are tired....DO NOT DRIVE. The cost of a motel rooom is not worth the risk. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Well, it's over.

It was the hardest thing I ever remember witnessing or being a part of.

The church was beautiful, the flowers were beautiful, they filled the whole area.

I think everybody in that town was there.

& at the front were 4 caskets, 1 just half-sized.

Thanks again to everyone for your kind hearts, candles, prayers, & good thoughts.

It means a great deal to me & my family.
