The hazing may go away soon. It may be the fiberglass door panels "gassing off", or off gassing. That trapped gas will cloud the glass panels. What is Offgassing? Offgassing is the evaporation of volatile chemicals in non-metallic materials at normal atmospheric pressure. This means that building materials can release chemicals into the air through evaporation. This evaporation can continue for years after the products are initially installed which means you continue to breathe these chemicals as you work, sleep and relax in your home or office. Can You Give Me an Example? Everyone knows how bad most paints stains and varnishes smell; your instincts probably tell you the fumes are bad for you. Much of those fumes are from VOCs. But there are VOCs in less obvious products. For example, that film that accumulates on the windows on a new car. This film is the result of chemicals offgassing into the air and then condensing onto the windows to form the film. This same process is very likely going on in your home and workplace right now, and the chemicals are not only in the air and on the windows, they are in your lungs. How does the door operate in the opening. If you have to force it open causing it to flex, that's another possibility. Another avenue is extreme temperature changes from very cold to hot in a short time. This would be heightened if it is in direct sunlight where the space between the storm door and entry door heats up radically, quickly. The stone is definetely another possibility and would be my first guess as well. I've seen an auto side window with a chip shatter when the door was closed so your stone thought could very well be the case.

Provia is one of my choices. In my area protection from the winters' cold, winds, and banking snow is the first concern. I am going to call them tomorrow. I hoping they can make a storm door with the white outer frame, to match the windows, but have the cross piece for the removeable glass/screen parts painted in the dark brown so it won't appear as a white bar across my wood tone/textured steel door. If not I'll see what they think about a dark brown storm door over my dark brown door. The door faces due east, and it very hot on the exterior until after noon. Once the sun moves over the house it cools off. The screen would be in the upper section from Spring until freezing weather.

I'm only able to truthful say countless because one contract was for 50 some odd upscale duplex units that resulted in a secound contract for another set and I lost count as i did one or two doors here and there over the years. I'm long retired and have put it out that for a fee I will show how I do it. Ditto for brick wall cracks as result of foundation shift. A few doors get installed but I've never seen any done in less than twice the time nor looked as good. The brick crack repair take's closer to 10 times as long and 99.9% can be seen from the street. I remember the very first brick repair I did using this method. I was punching out the repair list on a newly sold home when the listing broker asked my assistance in finding a mason for the brick repair. A mason had give them a figure which had been budgetted then the mason gave them some excuse and backed out (obivously because he realized he under bid the job because the broker and seller would have to contribute in order to get another mason). I had been kicking this idea around for sometime and since I had time to spare I decided I would give it a try,see what I could learn then have a mason come fix it. To my suprise it went faster and looked better than I expected it would on the first try. After I completed the house I called the broker to scedule a walk through with buyer and buyer's agent. In the conversation I told the broker funds for brick repair would come to me. A few weeks after walk through the buyer's agent called to ask me for the mason's name and contact number.
