So I am realizing I will need to paint the interior pine and the vinyl jam white to match the moulding that will go on the door. Anyone do this? Factory said painting is not an issue. I think spraying would look nicer? Would need to make a plastic spray both on the inside of the house around the door. I am painting with Dunn Edwards SP1 white, latex.

Hi toddinmn, Thank-you so much for your quick replies. Are they the 400 or 400 woodrights? 400 Are they staining, painting, or ordered prefinished For the 400’s? Prefinished is an extra $125/window. They would be replacing the interior casing with new, primed casing. are they replacing the interior trim? Will that be stained/painted? Yes but just primed what are they doing with the exterior trim? Nothing are they removing any siding? I will be replacing the siding but that is a separate project I hope to do as the same time as the window replacements. Do you’re Windows have lead based paint? My house is a 1987 home so I imagine that I do not have lead based paint.

I priced the Marvin Ultimate Next Gen and they are quite a bit more than both the A-series and the TW400s. A 3'by4' DH Marvin Ultimate was quoted at $750 while the A-series was $500 and the TW400 only $340. The Marvins were quoted by a window/door company and the Anderson's by Home Depot. I'm now leaning toward the A-series but may fall back to the TW400 depending on how the budget shakes out. Any thoughts on the pricing discrepancy? I thought the Ultimates would be more but not 50% over the A-series and double the TW400s. The Ultimates are definitely a nicer looking window but how much time will I spend staring at my windows once they're installed?

Sorry for the delay. Here is a picture one of the windows. You can see some moisture now to note, this is right after someone showered and the moisture is under control in the house now. However, you can also see where the damage was already done and continues for example int he corners. We had initially small formations of water in those areas and caused the wood to sort of discolor and bubble up. Also, near the window you can see where it is dark, that spot is where the heaviest moisture was and ended up stripping the poly from the window so the wood is now unprotected. I think the extension jams (i think is what it is called) need to be replaced in this instance which is fine. The part where it is more challenging is that decorative piece. I did pull off some of these already and sanding them while still leaving the decorative edging is very time consuming trying to remove the residual poly and stain. This is where i was i am trying to figure out do i buy new or is there a different way of doing this that i can freshen them up but not have to be so meticulous in getting all the poly off? Paint was my first thought but not sure if i will have the same or more issues if i do that or if paint will look bad that everything is polyed and stain?
