Anderson 400 series wood interior decorative pieces

Hello,

We have many of our interior pieces where the poly coating on stained interior trim has had moisture build up and bubble the poly off. We did take one of the worst windows and try and sand it all down and strip but that was a lot of effort for only moderate results i felt. The moisture issues have been reduced so we have that issue fixed but the windows still look really bad.

My concern with staining and polying them again is that we will end up doing this in another few years. This being the case i am trying to figure out a way for these to last longer if i have to replace them.

I am wondering if it would be more protective and possibly easier to paint these instead and wondering peoples thoughts?

Is it possible to get vinyl perhaps instead?

What are peoples thoughts or have you done if you had a similar issue?

Thanks.
