Private school, but not for step kids?

More than 4 years ago I married my current husband. Bringing into the marriage 3 of my own children, 3 year old twin daughters and a 1 year old daughter. Soon after we had a son of our own.

Now we have a dilemma. My twins are in the 2nd grade, my other daughter newly in kindergarten. My son is 3 and is eligible for a very prestigious preschool program, but only because of age. This is a preschool that continues through until the 12th grade and is very costly. Because of the cost my husband cannot afford to send my daughters without a considerable financial contribution from their father, which will never happen.

I believe that not only is this unfair to my girls, but that it would later be detrimental to them. I've also asked many of my friends and family their opinions, understandably they are biased. Now I need to hear the truth. Is this a reasonable expectation?
