I think that looks pretty, but it also looks silver on my screen which I like. If it looks gold IRL, I probably wouldn't keep it.

I love it and feel like it fits in beautifully. I'm always amazed when I watch decorating shows how much they don't seem to sweat stuff like that, (the gold vs. the silver) and by the time everything is in, it looks great!

Thank you. The room has 14' ceilings and is pretty big, I love its simplicity and cant' bring myself to refinish the wood floors in any of the rooms (used to be an old school). Someday I should at least try and take the paint spots off the bedroom floor (used to be my uncles workshop).

Well, I've got to go buy a new 3-way bulb, because I borrowed one from another lamp and in the new lamp it only clicked twice. So either it was a bad bulb or the lamp has a defect, either way I need to buy some more bulbs.

I love the lamp. I think it's perfect.

Ok, it's a keeper. I took the plastic off the shade. However, my car won't start now, so I can't go buy new bulbs. I knew I was too happy.

If you really want silver, don't hesitate to just spray paint the lamp. And if you want to change the look of the shade to look like the PB lamp, you should consider covering it in burlap.

I really think you need a larger lamp in that area but if it works for you, that's all that matters.

I like the lamp. However for the space a taller lamp may function better and be useful if someone likes to read in bed or maybe just add some art work over the lamp to add some height.

The height issue did cross my mind, but it's only an inch shorter than the ginger jar lamp I had there before. The ginger jar lamp was more narrow, there was always something about how tall it appeared that bothered me. I think I like the new lamp because of its wider body. As far as height for reading, I totally agree with that; but I've never found a tall lamp that I thought would look right on that dresser.
It would have to be as tall or even taller than the headboard of the bed wouldn't it? Don't think that would look quite right.

It's been over two years, and I still hesitate to hang any artwork on those walls. The room feels so open, uncluttered without it; but maybe some day I will need a change.

Maybe instead of a picture get a nice large piece of metal scrollwork so that it will still have a nice open feel and that gorgeous color will show thru.

For the lamp, I would go with a buffet style lamp for the height and use that one in another are of your home. I did a search for antique bedroom furniture on the rate my space site and then browsed for the highest ratings. The taller lamps seem to balance the space better.

Well, I have 45 days to return it; and I did't throw away the receipt or the plastic wrap that was on the shade. :) Thanks for all the input.

It's nearly dark here, and I turned on the lamp - I'm in love. It's beautiful, somehow that burlap colored material on the shade casts the light down onto the glass base in a lovely way.

Good buy! I like it, but I think I would like to see it taller. If it were mine, I'd try putting it on top of a couple of stacked books (done on an angle). I'd use dark colored books, complimenting the lamp's color.

I'm soooo glad you posted pictures. I was at Tuesday Morning this weekend and saw all 3 of the "mercury glass" lamps and I'm in love. I can't decide between them or where they'd go. So unfortunately they are still at the store. :-(
