You know of course, I do love reds, but Westbourne's Butterfly Season is my pick here. I really like that one. Every time you post it, it is usually my pick.

Thanks Avedon & Julia. Last year was the first time I liked Gordon Biggs at all, it had been splotchy til then. This year it has really looked good, not splotchy & opens nicely, plus lots of blooms. It has just gotten big enough it almost needs dividing, but I'm not messing with this one til it stops blooming or takes over the garden :) Jean, I really like Bubbles Galore, it always seems to open well. Funny, last year it was more yellow, but this year it has more of a flesh tone. Rita, Merry Witch was new last year, I liked the bloom but it has really improved this year & I love its bright color. Roady says thank you, he knows he is a handsome fellow. He gets too puffed up with himself sometimes, I explain that there are better looking cats out there, but he just doesn't believe me.

Lala - You will love Ada May Musick! Mine is planted next to August Frost, and with all the rain we've had, that one grew gargantuan fans (4 feet tall) and stole a lot of Ada's sunshine. She's not as tall for me this year, and she doesn't have the great branching she had in the past. But she'll still have a pretty long run, and hopefully will rebloom. Julie Newmar's another irresistible girl. I hope she does well for you up there. I have a big clump of Bali Watercolor now - 11 fans. The scapes don't have a lot of buds this year, but I've got plenty of scapes. Michelle - You really lucked out getting TRUE NORTH by mistake. I understand it's an incredible rebloomer. Sue - Hillbilly Heart is a great one. I highly recommend it. Rita - I was out at 6:15 a.m., but the heavy dew stayed around until about 10. If often does that here in June. Ellie - You are right. That's honeysuckle. But it's become a weed here and is strangling daylilies and clematis on the side of the house. Chris and Kay - Freedom's Triumph is a really vibrant color. It's not an early morning opener, like I prefer, but the dew doesn't marr it , so that's a plus. Debra

Hey Beth. Thanks. It is a Hybrid Bracteata. I learned recently that mini's and hybrid bracteata's are two different creatures. So I think I have to say no to that question but that's about all I know:) Yes the smoke is incredible. It actually got a lot worse yesterday. I know what you mean about how it just seems to be resting on top of us and growing thicker. If this persists I might be taking the weekend off fram gardening for a change. Just keeping my fingers crossed that the lightning in the forecast does not come to pass. Thank you Suzy. You know your question about Mary Rose in the vase ia a good one. I rarely cut my roses for that purpose as I prefer to enjoy them in the garden. I like the way the color on Mary Rose is maturing with time. Much deeper pink than last year. Kate

Thanks. The height issue did cross my mind, but it's only an inch shorter than the ginger jar lamp I had there before. The ginger jar lamp was more narrow, there was always something about how tall it appeared that bothered me. I think I like the new lamp because of its wider body. As far as height for reading, I totally agree with that; but I've never found a tall lamp that I thought would look right on that dresser. It would have to be as tall or even taller than the headboard of the bed wouldn't it? Don't think that would look quite right. It's been over two years, and I still hesitate to hang any artwork on those walls. The room feels so open, uncluttered without it; but maybe some day I will need a change.

There you go again, showing off your vegetables. I am definitely planting more next year.

Trial by Fire is the standout for me today, although I also really like Indy Heartstopper.

Chris, I think it is funny that my cucumber trellis runs along the big path in the middle of the backyard daylily beds. I had no place else to put it and I had so many cucumber seedlings!

I Love SOMETHING ANGELIC. its really pretty, and I always love HEARTS OF FIRE., INDY HEARTSTOPPER is a beauty, too
PURPLE MAZE is a pretty and bright one, too, and Got to love INSTANT CELEBRATION.when I first looked at it, I htought your celebration of angels is so pretty, then, when i looked at them a second time,I was surprised it is INSTANT CELEBRATION. its gorgeous. and my favorite one today isBUTTERFLY SEASON.Its so different and so pretty.
The CUCUMBERS looks very good,and I just bet you have lots of tiny cukes under them leaves.I dont have any yet, but at 104 degrees yesterday, I am lucky they didnt burn up.

Thanks Jean! Instant Celebration is one of those Celebration of Angels look alikes of which there are many ha-ha. This one is a Korth Intro. My Celebration of Angels is way over in another garden so that I can't get the two of them mixed up!

In the cucumber pictures I have the ones on the right which are bigger (older) plants. Those I had bought as seedlings and yes they have lots of flowers under those leaves and little tiny cucumbers. Then look on the left and you can see much smaller cucumber plants that I grew myself from seeds.

Debra, thanks. Hearts Of Fire looks especially good to me this year. But then I always love those reds!

TRIAL BY FIRE gets my vote and then the cucumbers ;-).

I wanted to ask you if your BERMA ABERCROMBIE has scapes and buds up already? Mine is loaded but I thought it would bloom much later in the season.

Julia, I know it has not bloomed yet but I will have to lok tomorrow to see if there are scapes.

Jean, I give my neightbors cucumbers and tomatoes also but I just bring them in a recycled plastic supermarket bag, No red wagon lol!

I really like Incendiary! But because I picked it before, today my favorite is Hearts of Fire. W.Butterfly Season is very interesting and unusual, and I also like Something Angelic.

I'm torn between Westbourne's Butterfly Season & Trial By Fire, they are both so gorgeous. Have to mention Indy Heartstopper & hearts of Fire too, lovely pictures. I kept intending to plant some cucumbers, & never got it done. I don't know how I could have put off something so easy to do. I may go out this morning & do that, maybe there is still time to produce.

TRIAL BY FIRE and SOMETHING ANGELIC both have wonderful color and are my favorites. T by F looks like an impressive clump.

Julia, I went and looked. No blooms yet but everything in there (that garden section) has scapes so there will be blooms.

Nancy, cucumbers are really easy from seed. And there would be enough time to still start from seed even here so definately you have enough time. I just love fresh cucumber and tomato salad in the summer!
