I have finally got 'er done! (Except for sealing) Whaddya think? In case you haven't followed the wip thread, this is for friends of mine whose last name starts with K, and first initials W and V. Hence the design...

My son found a Dell BIOS upgrade CD for this laptop Found as in lying about the house all the time or found from a friend? I ask because if this is a CD that came with the computer it might be fair to say the BIOS is not the latest available. He possibly flashed the same BIOS but cured any instructions that may have been corrupt. Did you or your son notice any beeps other than the normal POST beep during any startup attempt? Flashing the BIOS is not a task for the faint of heart, a slight hiccup and the motherboard is scrap material. I added that sentence in case others feel they might like to try this. Flashing the BIOS needs to be done only when there is a real reason to do so. In this case there was a good reason, congrats to your son This is where I would use one of Mikie's favourite tools - the event viewer. Take a long serious look back through there for clues. Many are written in gibberish but clicking on the links can bring some useful answers

sheilajoyce, I was in Barnes & Noble today and browsed through "Too Cute Crochet" by Cynthia Preston. Darling funny hats and scarves, including a cowboy hat, clown hat, kitty hat, dutch girl hat with braids, and many more. You can google the title. George, That's the sort of mistake a person only makes once. My worst habanero mistake was to grow a no-heat red habanero (Zavory) in the same year I grew the regular and very hot red habanero called Red Savina. I grew them apart from one another so I could harvest separately and not mix them up. That worked. I harvested the Zavory peppers into one plastic bowl and the Red Savina peppers into a separate plastic bowl. Both bowls were identical in appearance and the peppers looked enough alike to me that I couldn't tell the two different types apart. I should have labeled the bowls while harvesting because once I was back in the house, I got the two bowls confused which ended up being a problem when the big bite of Zavory that I took so I could see if it truly had habanero flavor with no heat actually ended up being a big bite of Red Savina. (sigh) It was a painful lesson but one that I learned well and never forgot. Jerry's post is well-written and very entertaining. One day---maybe no a really rainy day or something---or in the dead of winter---we need to start a post where everyone can admit to their worst garden mistakes. Oh, how BEAUTIFUL. I'm sure you're bursting w/pride on this one. LADY, you are G.O.O.D. And, just look at the perfect heart-shaped hole for planting. Made w/LOVE. I REALLY love this boot, and am kicking myself for tossing out an old worn out pair just recently. I have eleven pairs left, hmmmmmmmmmm - which pair can I spare?

The boot looks awesome Ronnie! Love the colors and the mirror tile really pops now that it has been grouted. I'm sure your friends are going to appreciate all your hard work making this unique gift for them! I agree with Jane, thanks for sharing your adventure with us!!!!

KELLY: It is easier to give it up because I went into it knowing I was giving it away to these dear people. They are our pastor and his wife, but also very good friends.
No, I am not in Missouri, but within 45 minutes of it, in Arkansas.

HAZIE I: It has CERTAINLY been a process! And I am CERTAINLY glad to have it done! And glad it did turn out well.

NT: Yep, that's my favorite part about it, the "authentic" shape of it.

BAMA: I've been waiting for you to say it! :)

SHELLY, RMT, HELEN, MARIA, SUNFUN, KLINGER, NANA: THANK YOU!

LILY: A cactus is what I have in mind also. The little African violet is just what I had in a pot small enough for the photo!

SLOW: That heart shape is just a happy coincidence from the angle of the picture. It really is an oval with a hole in the middle, with the ends cut down.

ANNIE: Thank you. Just to clarify, it's not going to a "he", but a "he and she" :)

JANIE, CRAFTY, KATIE: You're welcome! It was fun!

ZONE: I just sealed it a little while ago. Maybe tomorrow night, or this weekend for sure.

Well, it doesn't seem, from your comment, that they were over-joyed w/the specialness of the gift. I expected you'd come back w/tons of exclamations from them. I SURELY LOVE IT, and I would have gone wild w/excitement at a gift such as this, and thoroughly loved the process you presented to us.
