Can someone Photoshop me a front porch?

I tried posting this in the Building Forum but haven't had any luck. A nice lady told me I needed to post over here.

I have a HUGE favor to ask of all of you talented Photoshoppers! We are building & I know there are several different styles of front porches. Can someone please put some different porches on the front of my house? I can't decide if I want round or square columns, or columns w/ brick on the bottom, or railing. Also I don't know what you call it, but between the columns I would like to see a version of the white arches in between. Any idea what I'm talking about?! Also, what color shutters would you do w/ this brick (if we do shutters at all)? Thank you ever so much!!! Oh & please don't laugh at my picture, I've done a little "painting" on the computer trying to fill in my white trim (windows are white) & also pasted a front door that is similar to ours that isn't stained yet. Thanks again!

Hi Tnkcfan.

That's a nicely proprotioned house you have there, and it would be a shame to spoil its looks with a porch that, while it might be attractive enough in itself, doesn't properly relate in style, size & materials to the house.

Your oval-windowed, leaded-glass door is a contemporary adaptation of a late Victorian design, rather than one that existed when the style of your house was first popular, but, then, it will be stained darker, and it will be in the shadow of the porch, so it won't stand out too much, but you don't want anything as important as your porch to look like an afterthought, so I'd get hold of your original architect, or--if this was built out of a spec book--one who is at least familiar with the conventions of Colonial architecture, and I'd have him design an appropriate style porch for you. This is no time for amateurs.

That's not really my front door. Just something I pasted on the picture. Mind has a MUCH smaller glass in the middle. Kind of a rounded rectangle.

All you need to do is play with the program and eventually you can figure it out. That is how I learned but I do not know everyting. As far as I know you can change the color of the walls in several ways: One way is: Open the photograph select the magic wand tool click in the area to be changed now you can press delete and the area will get white (optional) or just keep the old color under the new layers. When the area is still selected you go to edit/fill and ok. the area automaticly will get the color that you have in the foreground or in the background. You could use the paint brush instead the fill command and start applying the color. (do you know how to select and change colors?) another way is when the area is selected, you go to layer/new fill layer/and solid color or pattern/ok and ok again after selecting the color you want. The advantage of using this way (by layers) is that you can change the layers easily: layer/change layer content/and solid color or pattern/ok and ok after selecting what you want. You can also use the lazo tool to select the area to be changed. If it is an square, the easiest way to select is using the rectangular marquee tool. newhomebuilder...don't mind me, I'm going blind! Seriously, I didnt see the hip section on the left but now I do. So with your drawing, there will be three triangular shapes including the exsiting hip. Gotcha! When my parents did theirs the roof line was just straight across and it was very easy to add on. Their door was not recessed back at all. So now I want to see what you're doing to YOUR house...LOL. I thought you had a brand new one?? rdsso, I can't wait to see how this turns out for you! Hey Squirrel! Oops, what I actually meant was the garage door that you posted on Oct 4th at 19:48, just white. (see above post). The one w/windows. Just switch the garage door on those bottom 2 you just posted to the other (and in white) and that will be the 2 I'm hoping for :) Boy, you are fast!

Nice job Michoumonster! kaysd - I've found that it you can take a picture from straight on, it's much easier to photoshop. Love your luce di luna; looked for, lusted after, but couldn't find slabs I liked. The hood looks great IMHO. Best, oldbat2be

Magnaverde is right, that is a beautiful house, I love the pure clean lines and symmetry. Also think the door should be rectalinear as well, no oval shapes. If you want a door with a window, how about a single french door with panes as the windows have? Otherwise a very crisp six panel door with windows at top.

Sorry I cannot help with photoshop, wish I could. But I would say square columns with good simple detailing, and of substance, would be very important. If it were mine I would not put a railing on it. This is a beautifully pure structure and you don't want that messed up.

Thanks for your input. Any input about shutters? Do them? Don't do them? What color? I'm having issues w/ my brick. Our house is far off the road. From far away it has a pink tint to it!! But I love it when I'm right in front of it & it isn't pink at all. It's very weird.
