Does anyone have/use fliptop game table?

I am thinking of getting a game table such as the one in the link below and putting a club chair on each side in our family room.

If you have pictures to share of how this type of table fits in with your decor I would appreciate it.

Is it easy to open/close?

mine isn't an antique, but have both a coffee table and dining table with flip tops. I love them for space saving (smaller home). Both are huge when opened up. Use the coffee table for games. Sit around on pillows.

Oh I love that table! I think our tastes are very alike:).I have an oval flip top between two chairs in my sunroom which is a play room really. I love it. We have it open alot lately for my five year old is enjoying "mastering" the game of chess. Mine is not in great repair but is very handy.

It may not be an HR person pushing the games. It is entirely possible that some executive in the company heard about them and is telling HR that all the employees have to "play" the games. These "games" are apparently the latest buzzword, and execs get street cred when they can brag/boast they, too, are using the latest and greatest thing in their company. I don't work in HR, but my position requires me to work very closely with our HR department, and you would not believe some of the things the upper echelon has told them to do. Some of those things would have broken the law, and HR has had a hard time reining a few VPs in. What they get from these games is a bunch of statistics, which may be used to pinpoint employee weaknesses so they can get better training, or to pinpoint employee weaknesses so they can be let go, or which the execs can't interpret so it is all for nothing. One thing, though. I would never, ever, put company software on my phone. If the company wants me to use software that requires a touch screen, the company needs to provide the touch screen. Unless they want to pay for my phone and phone bill, my private phone remains private. Asking employees to put company-provided software on their personal devices crosses a line for me. First, it's a "game." Then it becomes requiring the employee to use their own device to do work. Not a good situation.

Another GREAT Room! I'm struggling with paint color and have test paint BM Kingsport Grey and a Brown HC19 that I'm not as fond of. I was in the egg and i last week and their yellow top and black beadboard was very nice and got me thinking that might be good downstairs. Not sure. I was able to upload some pics onto picasa web -- I'll try to upload. Please excuse dog beds.

Ours will have 2 legs under it but also cabinets on the other side - so not the same as what you asked for but you can see the table legs anyway. Chairs in pic were used just to check spacing for stools. Our granite goes in next week. Does anyone have any La-z-boy furniture?

This is the La-Z-Boy "Van Buren" recliner we're getting for the TV room. I believe it also comes with curvy legs. DH insists his chair be leather, but I can pick the color. This is the La-Z-Boy "Pinnacle" loveseat. I plan to get it in a fabric. Both sides recline. There is a lumbar support that moves with you as you recline. It's also a "wall-hugger." And this is the matching La-Z-Boy "Pinnacle" recliner that I will get in the same fabric as the loveseat. It will be mine. The single recliner comes as a wall-hugger, or a glider/recliner, or a swivel recliner. I still have to pick the fabrics. That's the hard part! The Pinnacle line also has a sofa, but there's not room for on in my small TV room. We're opting for maximum comfort in this room. There will also be an older rocker/glider with gliding ottoman that Harry and I share.

I never thought about the coffee table being flip top.

I sense my OCD kicking in, I can vision a flip top coffee table in upstairs loft, flip top end tables in sitting room, flip top game table in family room...

Roarah - Thanks for posting that pic. Well, I hope you consider imitation as flattering because now I think I like the round one better.

We have a flip-top game table in our living room that we use regularly to play backgammon, chess, checkers and cards on. It's more of a dedicated game table than the one you're looking at as the entire piece is inlaid with different exotic woods. I do know that it was handmade in Syria but have no idea how old it is. It came with hand-carved game pieces for the various games. We have it set up in the corner of our living room. Here are some pics of it.

Close-up of the table top the way it stays until we use it. But, I can see in this pic that the table is rotated 90-degrees. I don't keep the sides with the hinges in front of the chairs. This top rotates and then flips or you have the option of taking it off, sliding the top into a slot in the table for storage and using the backgammon underneath:
