Energy Tax Credit: Is it worth it?

Good morning! WeÂre looking at replacing 10 windows that are 40+ years old in our home. WeÂve been in discussions with both Home Depot and another local company and received comparable quotes for the windows that qualify for the 2009 tax credit. (about $ The only quotes we have are for those windows that qualify. My question: Is it worth spending the extra money on the super high-efficiency windows that enable us to get the tax credit, or would we be just as well-off getting a slightly lower-quality product and saving some money in the process? IÂve started doing some research and IÂm completely overwhelmed with how much information is out there on windows, and how many different types there are. I would appreciate any advice.

PS: WeÂre in Minnesota, and if you have a recommendation for another company, IÂd love to hear about it!
