Comments (3)We are just finishing our kitchen remodel so haven't really used our new doors/windows. We went with Pella for the windows, specifically because we wanted the mini-blinds between the panes. The only reason we did not go with Pella for the patio door is that the screen is on the inside. There have been previous posts regarding that issue. At least several people have commented that, during a warm night with the door open, bugs congregate on the screen which has to be opened in order to close the door. Personally, I did not want to look at the screen from the inside. BTW, we have now had Pella service out here three times and have another call scheduled. Two windows arrived scratched, one mini-blind chord was broken upon delivery, and the mini blinds in one window are out of alignment. Also, one screen frame is out of square. We are about to replace windows in another part of the house and I will not go with Pella again....See MoreFront Door Pricing Pella vs. Lowes
Comments (5)The Pella store might be just a franchise, where they use the Pella name but aren't supported by the Pella company. I've heard stories from people who had problems with their local Pella franchise, and the Pella company wouldn't help. We went with Lowes for our Pella fiberglass doors. We had no problems, everything was quick and easy. They delivered them to the house and my contractor installed them. The Pella store probably has a larger selection than Lowes, but identical grade items should be the same in both places....See MorePella Proline 450 to replace 28 windows?
Comments (3)Thank you so much for your feedback! Yes, the quote we received was actually double that amount. And here all I thought was that I needed to get 7 windows fixed! We were told that eventually the other wood frame windows would need to get replaced too, so why not just replace them all at the same time. I see the contractors' point, but part of me wonders, why disrupt the 21 other windows that seem to be holding up from what we can tell......See Moremike35
