I feel like a hypocrite but...

Ok I know this might make me look bad but I can't help but feel the way I feel.

First...some of you might remember I posted about my son not really getting along with his step mother (he's 6) and that a social worker at school said she thought there was tension there. Well I'm still working on that...he is going to talk to another social worker next Friday to try and figure it out!

Ok on to the problem now. I think that my son might be calling his step mom "mommy" (I could be totally wrong) and I'm really upset about it.

The reason I feel like a hypocrite is because my son calls my husband "daddy" and of course that doesn't bother me one bit.

I think it bothers me so much because my DH is more of a "daddy" to my son than his dad. He coaches his baseball and football teams and stuff and would never let anything or anyone hurt him (mentally or physically). So I think that is good enough reason for my son to call him daddy. Also let me add that my son ASKED my husband right before we got married "can I call you daddy when you and mommy get married?"

As for his step mom deserving the title "mommy" I just don't think that is the case. She has made it so my son has seen things that he should have never saw and she is there reason that I am taking him to talk to a social worker.

Ok I am just kind of rambling and really hope I make some sense.

Like I said I don't even know for sure that he does call her "mommy" but I don't know how to find out. I'm scared to ask him because I'm afraid I might get upset if the answer is yes. I had asked him before if he wanted to call her mommy and he said NO! But I'm wondering if he does call her it now, his father and step mom might have made him feel bad or told him he had to and that is not ok with me.

Any advice on what I should do would be great...even if you just tell me I'm crazy!

Thanks!
