Love the first two, not at ALL a fan of the pink. I do like the color but not for a larger piece like a leather sofa.

I don't know how this happened!! Anyway, the sofa and chair are from H&M. We've had it a couple of years. I wanted bright red, but that wasn't to be. Love the pop of color and haven't gotten tired of it yet. These pieces replaced a 17 yr old teal leather sofa/chair that never went out of style--we just needed a color change.

Originally I had envisioned and really wanted, a cobalt blue sectional/couch for our LR. We looked for the perfect blue among the leather swatches for the sectional we'd found, but it didn't exist, so we opted to get it in black. Also, didn't want to chance tiring of the couch/color down the road (we don't replace furniture too quickly!).

However, I was able to satisfy my desire for cobalt blue by getting small stools with cobalt blue leather seats for the space straddling our LR and DR). You could consider doing something like that to bring in your pop of color, while getting a sofa in a color with more "longevity" perhaps.

Beige Leather

Taupe Leather on the Kivik armless chair from IKEA. They offer loveseat, sofa, chaise and chair. They use Memory Foam on these pieces. I think they're quite comfortable. Too bad they don't offer an arm chair that matches.

Love the hot pink one! That seems your style too...

Navy is a pretty classic choice, as is burgundy. Navy tends to patina a bit more noticeably than brown does.

Most "colors" will be a premium compared to something brown or black.

I have stools upholstered in Edelman Metallic Dream Cow (that's what it's called) in a light blue color and I had to buy the hide to get these pieces done. I had a dark green ottoman, and that was not as expensive, nor did I have to buy half hide or full hide.

Just be aware that you have a lot more options than the typical black or brown, but that the price will rise accordingly, the more unusual the color choice. Pink leather, on the same sofa, would probably double the price of the sofa in basic black. Navy would be more than black but not out of the ballpark.

It's not pink, but I like this matte leather style in red. This one is from Horchow--they seem to have more colorful leather sofas compared to other retailers like RH.

I don't know where you live but there have been two different sets of purple leather couches and loveseats on the Seattle CL this week. And both sets were a nice purple; you could call them eggplant or aubergine if you didn't want a purple couch.

Edited: Well, both the sets are gone, but there are 2 different ones now and maybe 3 - one I can't see for sure if it's purple, the ad doesn't say the color.

Boop, It's not leather, but when I saw the condition, the brilliant color and price, I thought of you immediately. I bet you could enjoy this, and it's so inexpensive. Wish you lived closer to Maine!

Olychick - how strange that you have so many purple sets in Seattle! Pretty much all you see around here is brown and black on CL. DH is just not going to go for a used sofa again though I dont think. :( So I guess it doesnt matter.

pamghatten - love that sofa. Is that a natuzzi? I think I saw one similar from them. The back cushions were attached though, so i had ruled it out. That is what is ripping on my current sofas. The seam in the back attaching the cushions to the sofa.

I am hoping to go look next weekend. Not sure I will get a babysitter though yet.
