stained glass panels

Here are a couple of stained glass panels I did. I live in a wooded area and they seem to work in my living and dining room windows with the trees in the background. In the summer it feels like a tree house.

OH VERY NICE!!! Good job! Is that wispy glass, the green? or water glass? Love the frames! Did you make them or were they already together and you sized the g;lass for it? Nice choice of textured glass for the background! Jane

That piece of stained glass is gorgeous as is. Painting what is a lovely piece of stained glass would be a crime. you'd end up with what looks like a plastic immitation. It would certainly go with all the vines on your bed Frame, and color of the glass's frame is close to the color of your bedframe Your room and decorating colors are mostly neutrals and it would add a splash of color. If you really don't like it then sell it but please don't try to paint it and destroy it. You may have paid $3 but it is worth more that that

The chalice definitely suggests church, but age and value are impossible to tell without a hands-on exam. It's a combination of stained and painted, but that sort of work was done for a very long period. It could be as recent as the 1970s, as old as the a870s.

Need advice about a large stained glass window panel

Hi there. I've been doing stained glass for many years. Yes, you can make a window this size using copper foil. I would suggest that you choose a wider foil. I have made some very large foil windows and have soldered copper wire, which bends and twists nicely, following the vertical lines of your pattern as reinforcement. If you are still hesitant, you can divide your pattern into 2 or even 4 and use perhaps an H zinc channel and design your pattern to carry through from one section to the next. It is not uncommon to combine both foil and H channels. Hope this helps and p-ost a picture when you're done!

They both are very nice looking. You did a great job. I love them hanging in the window like that...your right it does remind me of being in a tree fort. I have a thing for trees so I really enjoyed what you made!!!!

To Kelly6780, no I don't sell anything, just do it for an outlet for friends and family. These are the only 2 pieces I've done for myself.
