Trowelgal, I truly feel for you!  darn, why could I not have a good neighbour such as yourself? I canÂt imagine how frustrating your situation is and what others have stated they also must endure. Here at least thereÂs some space between the neighbours and myself, though still too close for comfort. ItÂs sad when working so very hard to carve out oneÂs own little beautiful and peaceful piece of paradise, only to be faced with neighbours who donÂt show due respect OR worse  they, just might be the type that seeks to make your life a living hell  at least mine are not quite that bad  though, these people are loud, aggressive and sneaky. IÂm a diplomatic caring sorta guy and often way too patient for my own good, though will tactfully approach others to resolve problems  but, just donÂt cut me off in traffic, cause then I canÂt be held responsible for the insufficient time to censor my actions, lol NOW GET THIS  when we had first moved here, our dog had remained out during the nights  and yes, sheÂd wake us up from time to time with her loud sharp barking. Then one night the neighbours had called at 1:30 am to let us know  of course, I had felt really bad and so each and every night afterwards the dog was taken into the garage  except yes, one time I had forgotten and again had received a call, though this time an ungodly 4:30 am  thus, waking the entire household here including a small baby. I called back in the morning and again had apologized and said how I had been distracted and forgot to bring the pooch in. Though, I really should have told her, that with our homes being over 200 feet apart and separated by a swath of forest, why didnÂt she just close the window and maybe turn on a fan to drown out the noise???  she could of then called me in the morning  I would NEVER phone anyoneÂs household at such an hour, other than in an emergency! Later, when she had launched that verbal attack on me, I had asked WHY was it okay for them to allow their dogs to bark relentlessly at me, while I was doing my best to keep things peaceful on my side?  not surprisingly, she had not replied. IÂd really like to put up a tall fence, heck IÂd even cover the entire cost  though, with so many dead and dying trees, weÂd forever be repairing it  though, at least IÂd then feel free to venture out upon the large portion of my property between my lovely neighbours and myself. I did see this! And yes, I still LOVE it five years later. We still haven't begun the 2nd-floor bathroom, aka the 1925 Hall Bath/Faux Master which is our only bathroom on the bedroom level with a clawfoot tub & a shower ring. Also, what are the requirements in the owner's area for replacing leach fields? If he was in Vermont it would have to be an engineered system. By messing with the leach field there is a possibility that a mound system could be required (about $10,000). I know, Vermont is nuts on this stuff. My theory on the leach field is that if it was a "designed" system and it's working okay, leave it alone. If you have heard that new state or county requirements are coming in the next few years, then it might be prudent to consider replacing it now to avoid some expensive fix a few years down the road. And, as someone said, if you are in a region where there is the possibility of having to hook on to a municipal sytem in a few years, then you might want to consider the cheapest fix you can get for now. The last one I had installed/designed called for an outgoing filter. The builder said he would never do another system without it. Pull it once a year or so and hose it off. On the pumping...when I owned mobile home parks I had about 20,000 gallons worth of tanks to keep pumped. In this area it's extremely expensive to have them pumped. I found that it was senseless to pump all of the liquids out of the tanks. Liquid was always on the bottom and would go out to the leach field anyway. We would just pump the first 2 or 3 feet making sure that all the scum and solids and semi-solids were cleared out. Think about it..if you pump the whole tank, within 3 or 4 days the tank is filled with liquids again.

In this area, all piping before and to the meter is done by the gas supplier. As far as I know, they use 10 PSI to the meter in this area. After the meter and regulator, the PSI is about 1/2. Some gas companies use higher pressures than 10. As you have discovered, pressure is one of the important factors in calculating the size of gas piping.
