mnzinnia, did you purchase these windows? I'm in the process of picking out windows for new construction and I've been really impressed by the professionalism (website is well done with informative videos) and communication as I've been able to get replies fairly quickly via email and they have a telephone number listed right on their website.

guy_exterior_man, can you expand on your comment on these windows? I will not have a chance to see them in person if I choose to buy them, so I would really like to know more about the build of the windows and if there are any weaknesses/flaws I should be aware of in their construction, manufacturing, or delivery.

cdigs, I'm a distributor of Thermo-Tech here in MN. They have been very good to me and I have had the greatest relationship with them. I can't remember having any issues with their windows that created any conflicts. They have three colors (white,tan,sandlewood) to choose from where others really only have two (white & tan). They also offer accessories for their windows for the different kinds of applications we do in the field. The frame material is very rigid and strong compared to most others here on the market. They have a great glass pack using warm edge technology and edge deletion for the ultimate seal. I'll take this window over most others in a heartbeat! You'll be very happy with them.

I have looked at these windows. I was about ready to tell my lumber yard to order these, but then they told me that they couldn't get them in white inside/sandlewood outside. Does thermo-tech plan on making two-tone windows available. I would like to buy from a Minnesota company (since I live in MN), but I want white/tan windows.

I visited the thermo-tech factory showroom outside of St. Cloud. The rep was very informative and the products looked good. Nice welds, good looking profiles. I visited another showroom and looked at a competitor--they did not look as well finished and were a similar price. However, one of our bidders was able to work it out to use the Marvin Integrity for very little additional cost so we have chosen to go with them for the main rooms and vinyl for the sunporch. I'll let you know how it works out.

Coincidentally, the Marvin Integrity line is also my first choice :), but the quotes that I'm getting are a little higher than I want to allocate for my window budget - it'd be interesting to see what types of numbers you're getting so I can get a better idea of whether the quotes from the lumber yards around me are in the same ballpark.

Incidentally, do you know if the windows in the Ultrex-wood Marvin Integrity line comes in full Ultrex? It seems as if the full Ultrex windows are replacement inserts only (and come in a much smaller selection).

I'm following up with the outcome on the Thermo-tech and Marvin Integrity windows. We did use the TT's (7 double hung low e) on the porch and 2 in the garage. For a value priced window they are very nice. They appeared much better constructed that several other vinal windows I looked at. They open easily, latch tightly, and had no surface defects or blemishes. They are a huge improvement over the old windows.

We used Marvin Integrity casements in the house plus an Integrity french slider to replace a rotty old swinging patio door. There was some miscommunication re sizes--most openings had to be downsized a bit to fit the standard only sizes available with the I's. This was minor in some but several required some drywall patching and painting. The alternative was the TT's custom sized for about the same price but vinyl interiors or Marvin Ultimates at way, way more money. At this point we are very happy with the Integrity's. They operate nicely and look great. The bedroom windows came with a white finish, I stained and finished the others and (pat on the back)they really improve the appearence of the rooms. My son is an architect and he believes they are an excellent window and value.

Our contractor seemed to take pains to be sure that things were properly installed so we hope for many years of use. I would recomend both windows although the Integrities are more suited for new construction unless you want to deal with resizing like we did. Because we were also installing new siding, this was a doable option for us.

If you look at Marvin sliders, note that there are sliders with 1,2 and 3 lock points. We choose to pay a little more and go for one with 2. My husband really took some convincing to go for a slider rather than a swinging door but once it was in and operating he decided it was the best choice.

Hope that helps some of you who are trying to decide.

Put thermo tech windows in my new house in 2022.I would not recommend these windows to anyone. Get any temps below -5 you will have frost and ice on every window. Had to put plastic on the windows in the sunroom to keep it warm.My home has humidity level of 25 to 30%. Should not have these problems.

Anything over 25% is too high for that temp.

Sunrooms are notoriously under served on the HVAC side of things from both an energy and air circulation standpoint.

Shades on the windows?

No. Shades are open with ceiling fan. Used to have renewal by anderson in my other house.Should not have to put plastic on the windows!!

along the bottom and across the whole middle of each window. Can feel the cold air by each window. Basically bad windows that are not made for any cold weather in minnesota!Layers of frost build
