Help me protect my newborn!

Hello,

I'm lost amoung choices for our new nursery window treatments. The windows face the southern sun and it gets SUPER hot in the summer, much too hot for the baby. We do want the heat in the winter which is very warm and comfy. I can not make a mistake in my selection because the baby will be born in June.

The windows need to be replaced in the whole house, they are older but for now I must find a way to fix it at least for a few years.

I've looked at pvc, light blocking curtains, film etc...my main concern is the heat not sunlight! Can anyone give specific suggestions that will definately keep the room cool in the summer and warm in the winter? We planted a shade tree but it will be some time before it works! We do have a budget but this being so important we can come up with more $ if needed.

Here is a picture of the windows.

Thank you very much,

Worried mother to be, Keilamarie
