Hi Lee! Mine is old, and by Eljer. It developed a TINY crack earlier this year, which a plumber was able to fix with 2 part epoxy. I have changed the flapper a few times, and because it's old it uses more water than newer ones like yours would, but it works great! If I was buying a new one, I'd buy a brand name and look online for reviews. They aren't easy to find but here is a link to American Std Titan, which seems to be the one you're considering. I haven't seen any other 'brand name' corner toilets out there now. I don't care for comfort height, but the Titan is the one I'd buy now. "But that would be more country, wouldn't it? Or is that too shabby chic?" What are you looking for? There is nothing wrong with either Country or Shabby Chic. You say your kitchen is done in French Country. Your DH wants a red powder room and likes plans and trains. You want toile. Hmmm. A hybrid of the two looks in NOT going to work. My suggestion would be to skip the toile and go with a simple wide stripes. This will still give you a bit of the French Country feel and you do not have to worry about decorating around Marie Antoinette and her violin playing cohorts. You can do toile in another room. Let your DH have his RED powder room. From what you say he had a very strong opinion about this. Don't panic! Red is a nice color for French Country. Give him his train poster. Choose one that is very early 19th century and shown traveling through a country side setting. A black and white one would be nice too. Choose something that transitions well with your French Country themed kitchen so that you do not feel you stepped into a time warp when you enter the bathroom. Most train posters are of the Art Deco genre. If he is willing to give up the train and plane theme if he gets his red powder room skip the poster wall art and put up a shelf. Take your time decorating the shelf and do not just run out and buy "stuff" for it. Buy what speaks to you. Buy what you love. Also consider an American Country theme rather than French Country. It can look sophisticated with Victorian elements without looking "shabby".

I went back and looked at all your pics again, and this is what I would do. I'd recover the backs of the chairs in an ivory fabric. I would find an area rug with ivory, taupe (like your walls), and that beautiful blue in the peacock. Either find or make a centerpiece with ivories and blues, and add the peacock feathers to supplement the arrangement. A place like Michael's could help with that. Add some silver candlesticks on either side of the centerpiece. Consider changing the mirror to a more modern looking silver-framed mirror. Dark walls add drama....not sure about this because I can't really tell what your wall color is now, but it might be cool to accent the mirror wall with a dark paint, maybe a deeper shade of the peacock blue, a dark gray, or a deeper shade of your current wall color. I would also eliminate the planter on the buffet and use something with a lower profile. This can all be done inexpensively, especially if you recover the chairs yourself. Check places like Hobby Lobby, TJ Maxx Home Goods, and of course Kirkland's!

I'm also loving the moody blues but I agree with @jck910 in that the paint should blend with the floor. I was going to suggest SW white egret but I just watched a video on it and the video said if your room doesn't get a lot of light it will make the room feel dingy. I used it in a room with two sky lights so it wasn't. That said, I think something warm and white/creamy would be good just from looking at our picture. I would freshen up the trim and window sill with SW extra white in semi gloss. So many colors to choose from!
