I wrote this in reply to another post but I think it covers a few posts. So If I am rambling sorry.

"Some" parents are hell bent on enforcing visitation on a schedule that will exclude one parent or another. If the child has an active schedule on weekends then the "parents need to be flexible" and say ok since you have stuff on weekends you should go to other parents a couple times during the week and meet halfway to cut down on travel time for both. Or arrange a schedule that fits all parties not just one or the other. The parents need to put away bitterness, petiness and what ever other adjective fits, and help the kids maintain some contact with the other parent. If the parents are not flexible in anything why should the kid be.

Visitation should not be set in stone it should be flexible as if the family were still intact. If you have to work late your spouse picks up the kids. In divorce it should still be the same atleast thats how I see it but don't abuse willingness to help out as excuse not to be a parent. When I couldn't/can't make an event for my son, ex went or if he had to work OT on a weekend we would arrange different days for BS to spend time with his BD. Yes sometimes it was an inconvenience if I had plans that weekend but if we were together and had plans and he had to work, you make other arrangements or don't go.

The parents should be able to work together for "the benefit of the children". What are you going to fight tooth and nail everyday until the kids turn 18 then what? Its such a short period of time they are kids. Why would you want to spend # years being _________ at someone why give them that much power over you.

I have spent the last 9 months giving BM full power over me. I am done she can no longer make me feel_______ because she will not be flexible I have resigned to the fact that she is not a good mother never will be and I will no longer waste my energy on being________ at her.

I went to a wake last week and sat with my BS. BD EX and his Wife their SM and it was cordial wasn't any harsh feelings she was there for my kids and ex in a time of need as she has been for the last 7 years. She was the OW and I still didn't have any feelings about that ...

How many BM's who post here could/would go to a wake/funeral or any family event on the ex's side and not feel _______ toward SM or EX? I was nervous going but I went for my children it was their great grandmother and I was "family" for 15 years.
