ideas for interior windows

We have a bedroom that got completely enclosed within the house when an extension was built several years ago. The 2 windows (28.5" by 44.5" each) now face a hallway where natural light is provided by a skylight. The previous owners had removed the old windows and just left the storm windows to provide an (ugly) sound barrier. We decided to improve the looks of that bedroom and painted it and replaced the old carpet by wooden floors. Now we have to deal with the windows and later we will put roman blinds. We removed the storm windows, so now there are only the openings. One possibility is to just buy standard vinyl double-glassed single-hunged windows, although here double glazed seems unnecessary since the windows don't face the exterior. A more expensive, more attractive solution would be to get custom-made windows (wooden, divided in the middle like French windows). Are these complicated to make? Would it be reasonable to ask the contractor that did some work for us, or shall we try to go to a place that specializes in windows? Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
