Interior windows & window trim

When my husband put down our hardwood floors, I asked him to use MDF for the new baseboards & door trim so that I could paint it white to contrast w/ our wall color. We will be replacing our windows this year & currently we have wood casement windows (stained) w/ a matching stained window trim. If we decide to replace our windows w/ the same type of wood casements, would you leave them the original stained wood color or paint them or ?? Seems funny to trim out stained wood windows w/ a painted white MDF trim but I'm a little leery of painting the windows too (possibly just because I've always had stained wood windows).

Can you give me your thoughts? Thank you.

Personally I prefer stained wood. It's richer and more warm feeling to me. However I have seen wood casement windows trim painted. Like I said, not my preference, but it has been done. I'm sure someone will have photos to share to help you decide.

In combination with black doors, this can become over kill in a big hurry. The light.........and the too heavy below. Sorry....... the first THREE look great, the last???? Not for me. As t0 your powder room? You love it. Fine, but far better with a WHITE casing around the black, the paper seems over powered by the weightiness of the window.. ......jmho. Careful with this black drama, A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY. .. At some point you'll be painting again : )

@BeverlyFLADeziner: I have an open concept floor plan. The kitchen is open to a combination living room and dining room. My color theme is black, white, and gold. All of my walls and mouldings are white, the kitchen cabinets and island is white, and the countertops are white with grey veining. Im going to paint my kitchen island black. I also plan on painting my doors black.

The interior sash only of my black windows is black. It creates a thin margin of black. The rest of the trim in all the rooms is painted in the wall color.
