another idea for window for xmas

I was at ac moore and I fell in love with this snowman....plus the 30 percent off also lol...anyway this is what i decide to put together to use on one of my windows that only had one piece of glass....

Love it, Mojo. Lettering on that pane of glass looks great--I'm sure not good at doing lettering. Great idea with the electric candle too so it can be lit up. Luvs

Mindy et al, I got that tall blue pot I had my eye on. It might have been $200 marked down to 40 marked down to TEN DOLLARS. I also got a big metal/copper bucket marked down from at least 150 to $37.50 (I don't think she did the math right. I'll have to check in the morning. I had wanted something like a watering trough near the bees, and this might fill the bill. Or we can use it for logs. That magnificient green pot. I met the nice guy who works the floor. I told him what I wanted to pay for it and without my knowing it he called the ?manager? anyway a woman, and she no way was she going below $160. I think the problem is there was no pink marked down price, so it was 75 % off 699. I really don't want to pay that much because I know I won't move it in freezing weather, and it may break. I'm only willing to risk 100 or less. If anyone can talk them down to $100 or less, I'll take you to LaPatisserie for lunch or Quebrada in Arlington for a cake. Could also do Lakota for a dozen cookies. There's a challenge for the bargainers out there! I'll pay you back in cash and could even meet you at Mahoneys to load and transport pot. Mindy, I saw two "maroonish" pots (one upside down, the other on top) on the pallet, next to the sky blue tall. Are those the ones you are talking about? If there was a salmon pot in the "transition room" I missed it entirely. I'm not looking at your post right this second, but I thought you said it had some branches dispayed it it. I'll look again, maybe when I check to see if the christmas tree is marked down. I wasn't too offended by the look of its branches. But then I had pots on my mind. Marie

Paintingfool, thank you OK, I will start another post (I just did not want to be a "post hog" LOL ) luvstocraft, thank you, yep those are some of the roses I bought from Walmart, I bought all they had, they were prettier flowers than usual IMHO, you have to really look thru their stuff, but sometimes they have gems. "Do I mix silver and gold", wellllll, not to much in the tree (so far). Usually in my trees there is always a plain "base color ball", a gold ball, or a silver ball, then a solid color ball that is in my color theme for the tree, ex: red ball, or cream ball or pink ball, then I fill in with the more fancy ornaments. And crystal or clear glass ornaments always go with almost anything. Now, if a person is doing a "traditional tree" with all the mixed colors of the rainbow, then I would think mixing golds and silver is perfectly suitable. IMHO Please understand these are MY choices, and in no way am I setting rules, I would not want to offend anyone with their style choices, after all a person should decorate their home and tree in any way that makes them happy. Many would say my style is way overdone, but overdone makes me happy.... but, I will say, I do love elegant simplicity, I start out that way, but end up with way more LOL My DD decorates her tree much like me, but uses fewer ornaments. As far as tablesetting goes you can see there is the gold and silver in the silverware. I also have the gold band rim in my crystal stemware, which I paired with the silver chargers, so I do mix that to some extent in my dinner table.

Have you seen the "mice" cookies made out of stemmed maraschino cherries dipped in chocolate with Hershey Kiss heads resting on half of an oreo cookie? They are soooo cute and everybody who sees them, raves about them. You take the top off of an Oreo cooke and save the white frosted part to use as the base. Dip a stemmed cherry in melted chocolate and lay on the white frosting with the stem facing backward like the tail of the mouse. Place a dab of chocolate on the base of the Hershey Kiss. Use 2 sliced almonds pressed into the chocolate as ears and press against the cherry. The base of the kiss goes against the cherry with the almonds in between as the ears. Use green frosting gel and place 2 dots on the Kiss as eyes. Place a red hot or cinnamon candy on the center of the white frosting by one side of the mouse and pipe green gel leaves on either side of the red hot. It is just a green squiggle on either side, but it gives the effect of holly. You could also use a dot of red piping gel on the tip of the Kiss as a nose, but it isn't really necessary. When done, the mouse faces sideways with the holly in front! They take some time, but aren't that expensive as the cherries usually come in a jar with a large number of cherries, and probably 3 bags of Oreos would give 100 bases. I always get people raving over them when I make them for my Christmas Open House. TTFN, Candy

I can see why you would fall in love with the snowman...he's really cute. I love the way you've put it all together with the window. I may just copy your idea and do the same thing. I love snowmen!

Im going to be adding lights around the wreath also, the ones i bought just didnt work...(me and xmas lights do not get along lol) barbara it looks so cute the picture really dont do the piece justice....its ashame i cant show how pretty it is with the candle flickering....the approx cost for everything was 15.00 now where can you find a wreath for that price lol....oh and if you have an ac moore around you, I put a coupon for 40% off on the craft and decoration page on here...here are some other saying that I found online that i thought were cute also....
