Look what I found in a trash pile!

I've been driving by this thing all week on my way to work. Being in my dress work clothes I haven't picked it up. But this morning I got the chance!!! Isn't ripe for mosaicing?

I've always loved the "tinajon" idea with flowers flowing out of it. It's a spanish thing! LOL!

This is the only living color in my yard thanks to the deer.

The story behind the items is that we had a really bad wind storm a couple weeks ago and a tree fell in my neighbors yard crushing the chimenea.

Oooooh. Those are very cool!! I like!

And do tell, what is the name of that gorgeous plant the deers have skipped for their meals? I'm looking at replacing a few they have decimated so far this winter and this spring, and that's a nice one. If the zone fits, I'm getting one ASAP.

Unreal what people toss but so fantastic you were there to scoop up those amazing finds up! It would have been terrible if the 'garbage-man' had just chucked them in the truck and they got crushed/destroyed. We GJers are the best conservationists!! ;- ) You've done great! I'm glad to read you won't take the weathervane apart - that would be a shame as it is perfect just as it is. And I have a thought about it 'getting lost' once the shrubs around it grow. I have a few glass totems around and at first glance around the garden you don't see them. But I know for myself that when I go to see other people's garden I take my time when I look around. Well, yesterday I took my time looking around my garden (was actually looking for weeds that are growing through the bushes) and I notices a shimmery reflection then saw a totem. I couldn't help but smile. I'm now rethinking how items are placed in the bed - some things, sure, give 'em front row exposure, but it's a bit more exciting to 'discover hidden treasures'. Cait

Excellent Mojo, absolutely beautiful. I love the darker blue background (instead of the sponged yellow). The roses are perfect, they compliment the roses the blue bird is sitting on. Love the antiqued blue you did on the door piece and whatever those things are making the border around your pic are just perfect also. mrs.micki, I personally use a med to fine grade sandpaper. All you really need to do is scuff the surface. I use Kilz primer on almost anything I paint as it helps to hold the paint a lot better and keeps any imperfections from bleeding through, such as the knots on your desk. I also use a roller to paint as I like the texture it leaves. My hubby prefers to use a brush as he likes a more smooth finish. So it depends on what look you're after... and who is painting! Paint is very forgiving. If you don't like it, you can re-paint it. I have an old dresser that has been painted every color of the rainbow. The latest color is white. I'm really liking the idea of wrapping our new stainless Fisher Paykel fridge, as it is not a no-smudge model. In 5 years when we sell, all we'll have to do is remove the wrap and voilà, a perfectly clean shiny fridge. Great score!! Now it will have two functions! Recycle, re-invent!! That's my motto! I went to 2 gs down the road from me, to look... and came home with a bb stand(next project) and a little table, very cute! And got to meet some neighbors, one lady showed me her lovely pond!!

Amazing what uses we can find for throw-aways...looking forward to the WIP shots of them both! I've got a chimenea in the front flowerbed that I want to stick a coupla flowerpots into, but haven't found the right size pot yet. The color scheme of our house changed, so maybe the universe has been preventing me from finding the pots until I mosaic the chimenea!

Calam, I love that stool! I passed one up a few weeks ago and am so mad. It wasn't as pretty as yours but I thought about cutting a hole in the seat to put a planter. What are you going to do with yours?
