and finally finished my bird pic....just added roses since that is what i was working on

Oh my, that turned out just wonderfully. Nice choice, too, to solidify the circular background around the bird, I think it works more effectively than the sponge painting. What are the little beigy circles you used around that-- buttons or knobs?

I also like how the flowers now trail down the side of it, lovely! You should be so proud!

Well I'm on the premium 30 day free trial run (actually 28 days left, I just discovered it 2 dys ago) then I'll switch to basic (since its free) as I don't need to share with others etc, can always export to jpeg and visio and can do with a 2MB image upload limit etc...

mrs.micki, I personally use a med to fine grade sandpaper. All you really need to do is scuff the surface. I use Kilz primer on almost anything I paint as it helps to hold the paint a lot better and keeps any imperfections from bleeding through, such as the knots on your desk. I also use a roller to paint as I like the texture it leaves. My hubby prefers to use a brush as he likes a more smooth finish. So it depends on what look you're after... and who is painting! Paint is very forgiving. If you don't like it, you can re-paint it. I have an old dresser that has been painted every color of the rainbow. The latest color is white. Excellent Mojo, absolutely beautiful. I love the darker blue background (instead of the sponged yellow). The roses are perfect, they compliment the roses the blue bird is sitting on. Love the antiqued blue you did on the door piece and whatever those things are making the border around your pic are just perfect also.

The drawer box is lovely also, very nice antiqued buttermilk color. Clap, clap, clap.
