Need help with exterior paint...thinking green but not too green!
Comments (1)Maybe you already have the perfect color on the siding and only need to change the colors of the trim. Sage green shutters and a red front door, with the red tilting towards orange, not blue so that it blends with the yellow-brown of the bricks. OR, Maybe a shade of gray for the siding that tilts toward brown, which I guess would be a taupe color....See MorePaint colors; faded green blue grey?
Comments (48)Mtnrdredux.. Not sure if you saw post on your other thread.. I took a photo of our MB with Theresa's Green and pale powder. The tricky thing with Theresa's green was the undercoat recommended by FnB - they recommend the dark undercoat which was really dark. I even called their Toronto office and talked to the main paint guy here who convinced me to give it a try.. It really seems to add a dimension to how the color feels.. Kind of like a darker petticoat under a silk gown. Every day, I catch myself looking at the color because it is such a changeling. Our bedroom faces east and I also have a couple of skylights on the ceiling. The dark wood is panel on the wall. Theresa's green is on the wall to the right. The ceiling and the wall to the left are pale powder....See MorePaint color suggestions: yellow, green grey
Comments (0)Hi I am looking for paint color suggestions. I am starting a gradual process of painting my downstairs and some furniture. I really like pale greens, yellows and grays - my home is in the woods in Maine. This palette connects the interior and exterior. Here is an inspiration piece by my grandmother. But I think the color contrast here would be too extreme. I just painted a small addition area this color - a mix of SW Fun Yellow and Icy Lemonade. I plan to paint the rest of the downstairs a paler yet shade. I want to build and install several picture ledges (my family and friends = artists) on this wall. Not sure whether to paint them the same as the wall color or a soft gray or least favorite idea poly them. The same with the closet doors. I also have several pieces of furniture to paint. Now I am looking at greys - and changing my mind on my original choices. I want to give my small space and miscellaneous furniture a bit of unity and flow. Suggestions?...See MoreDark closet paint?
Comments (27)I would recommend doing closets trim color of white. Austere Gray has an LRV of 51 which means it is fairly dark color and doesn’t reflect much light. I recommend SW High Reflective White. It has LRV of 93 so very reflective. That would make your dark walls stand out too. Alabaster goes to yellow and it might look old instead of fresh. Hope that helps....See MoreRelated Professionals
