If it leaves esh_ga scratching his head then this should be interesting if anyone can nail it down. Everyone: I also measured one of the large post oaks I mentioned earlier and it measured 44.5" at 4 feet above the ground. So maybe it is not quite the 20 feet in circumference I thought but it is still pretty darn big :) I think I found the mother tree just before dark and it is in pretty bad shape. Unfortunately it is on my neighbors property and I don't want to trespass. They are never home to ask for permission. Maybe I can catch them this weekend and get pics of mature bark if it is indeed a match to my small example.

After the bread is slid on to the hot stone, I toss a few ice cubes on to the oven floor and I spray the loaves with water to or three times 3 to 4 minutes apart. Yesterday's bread was a sourdough and the dough had a long cold rise which also effects the crust. Ann

gosh havn't seen blond furniture for ages..i'd be very careful on the sanding..do a space that won't be seen...i'm thinking it might be a veneer..now they're much thicker on older pieces, but on my 44 year old coffee table, i hit pressed wood, which i thought was walnut! and decorative pieces were another wood! play it safe and use a fine grit from the get-go... same for the second piece... wish the furniture guys were still on..they had all sorts of great ideas, including repairing veneer pieces..

parma42 - yup, free is definitely welcome here too! They actually had a whole slab of Jurassic Green left over from their kitchen that they would have given us for $600. If only we hadn't JUST done our kitchen counters. DOH! I don't think it would have been quite enough to do ours, anyway. andee - I don't know what color they are painting the bathroom. I'll have to ask them. The fireplace is in the same room that the granite will occupy so that's the wall color I'm looking for. I don't really like the fireplace, so I don't really want it to stand out, but I don't want it to feel like I am trying to hide it either IYKWIM. One thing I forgot to mention is that the Love Sac beanbags we have to furnish this room are covered in brick red, olive green and navy blue. I can't really afford to recover them all right now, so it would be helpful to coordinate with them. I keep looking at the greyish greens in the fan deck and I wonder if something like that might work. awm03 - that does help, thank you!
