Huh?

My stepdaughter had apparently spent Sat. night w/ her mother. When we left for church yesterday morning, she wasn't home, but was there when we returned after the service and CCD party.

She didn't wish me a happy Mother's Day or anything, but after the boys gave me gifts, her dad pulled her aside and they spoke a little then she left.

She returned w/ a gift card to Bed, Bath, and Beyond for $100! I was stunned. What was more shocking was the card to "MOTHER." Inside, she wrote, "Dana, I took the liberty of calling you mom and I hope that's OK. I just want to thank for all you do, esp. the things that seem to go unnoticed. Love, D."

Now, I know DH gave her the money, etc, but he surely didn't script the handwritten part. I was deeply touched. I realize she may not have been able to find a "Step" card that late, but it was still very sweet.

Thought I'd share her nicer side since I've been off on a tangent about her less than polite ways.
