fix it sooner, NOT later

I know this. Honest, I know this.

But I don't act like it.

If something is broken a teeny little, get it fixed NOW.

Before it gets worse!

The microwave had a little crack at the bottom of the handle. We lived with it, thinking it was purely cosmetic. It got bigger. By the time it got fixed (screwups from GE, and us throwing up our hands in despair), the handle had come off completely.

Today's problem: the latch for the dishwasher broke--spring didn't work, handle was stuck in the "in" position. We just pulled it out by force; figured we could still function, didn't want to pay for the service call (past the warranty by about a year).

Last Thursday I realized that the decorative panel was cracking, bcs it was getting pressed on as we pulled on the handle.

So now, we get to pay to replace the decorative handle, too.
