Yup- I want someone to get this. I'd love to see if it's as useful as it appears!

I don't have a lot of uppers, so I can't really use it- but maybe in the basement? :>)

rev-a-shelf makes some cool 3" or 5" fillers that would be useful in uppers. the perforated pegboard one is pretty cool.

I think those pull-down shelves are cool, but they waste a lot of space, I think.

The overall mechanism is just over 10" deep, with 8-1/2" of usable depth between the rails. Sizes given are inside cabinet width  usable shelf width is 5" less (requires 2-1/2" of clearance each side).

They'd be good for people w/ real mobility problems, but that's not me, not yet.

The pegboard pullout right over the main work area would be cool--

Also, I love back-of-the-door storage for uppers--spice racks on the inside of the door, cup hooks for hanging measuring cups & spoons, racks to hold packets of salad-dressing flavoring.

I have a box I put my spices in; it works sort of like a drawer, except that I threw out the runners that would have kept it anchored to the shelf, bcs I figure I wldn't be able to see in it then.

Raehelen, you had me going there. I was all ready to sign up...until I read that space info, Talleysue. That stopped me in my tracks :) Thanks for pointing that out. They are cool but it would nice if they were trimmer. For now, I'll just keep using my step stool to get up there. And the back of the door stuff is a good idea. I do best organizing with small, defined spaces.

Edlakin, thanks for the idea about the pegboard thing. That could be neat!

Got this idea from the forum:

I mounted this pot rack under a shelf in an upper cabinet. It is right next to my range so it is handy for sauce pans and skillets. I love having them hanging right there.

A 12" lazy susan turntable helps one grab that condiment bottle at the back unassisted by a stool. Low tech and cheap if you buy at BB&B, but I'm not sure that it's fun and/or sexy.

actually, that filler could be retrofitted into an existing cabinet. we are putting two rev-a-shelf pull-outs into a 9" box. the cabinet will have the normal door, but when you open it, you'll see the two pull-outs and will be able to yank out one or the other.

we're doing the five-inch rev-a-shelf pegboard and a 3-inch pullout with shelves.

I used that same pot rack in my last kitchen, except I replaced the wood slats with two pieces of aluminum bar stock that I sanded with some medium grit sandpaper to make them look like the brushed stainless steel on my hood and range.
The big difference was because I used aluminum instead of wood, I could make it much longer. How does a 6 foot long pot rack sound?

Check out this page of Schrock Organization Cabinets. I almost ordered the two sided swinging spice cabinet inserts to retro-fit into my existing cabinet. If I had just a few more uppers in my kitchen, I would have done it.
