Places like Home Depot sell little flags that you can attach to your wall mounted box. I don't have one of those little flags yet and was searching the web to see what the best way is to alert my mailman that I have out going mail and that's how I ended up here. From the info I've found, you should have the stamp showing. I think what I'm going to do is just prop the mail up lengthwise, making it visible, and if the lid doesn't sit on top in a way so the mail wont blow around, I'll take a big clothespin to it. I am also considering just putting a post it note on the box. That would be even easier for both myself and my mailman. I have always had a mailbox on a post by the rd because my mm drives but I'm now disabled and can't get out there very well, esp in winter. If you need your mm to deliver to a wall mounted box, get your dr to write a letter expl that you have physical issues and it's not safe for you to go out away from the house to get your mail. Get that letter to the local post master and it should be all set. The man from the USPS 800 # gave me that info. He said I just have to do that and either put on a box near my door or install a slot. It's been going well except for this mailing letters business. I'm going to call and ask about the post it note. The first one is the most expensive (of course) and it is the Atlas Shelley pull. I definitely agree that the 3rd one is just as chunky feeling - but since it was angled at the ends it felt visually lighter to me. I thought I would go with #1 at one point this morning - but I don't know if it is too "bathroomy". I would delay and just install myself - but I tried that a few years ago with an entertainment center and it was a disaster - doesn't matter how "easy" it is, my DH and I manage to botch any DIY type thing. :(

I too sort of liked Virgin River. Formulaic but not too bad, at least the woman doctor isn't insipid. I have watched the Kominsky Method both season twice. There is a poignancy there that speaks to me. Watched "Gentification" this weekend and loved it. It's more than half in Spanish with subtitles but takes place in the US/Los Angeles Boyle neighborhood. That didn't bother me. I found its message about struggling as an artist/creator and trying to keep neighborhood traditions alive in changing economic times very relatable even for me in a small midwestern town. A tad stereotypical, but what TV isn't a tad stereotypical. Pick your poison. Bear in mind this is just my .02, but I loathe "Mrs. Maisel" let me count the ways. Sophomoric is one that comes to mind. Great eye candy but oh so Disneyfied do don't call it ground breaking. And as a Jew, I find it a terribly insulting lame self-parody, and that's being kind. No reflection on the talent in the show though. My grandkids turned me on to "Stranger Things." So far so good but I'm not very far into it. For sci fi fans mostly though. I gravitate towards escapist things with a strong dose of humor but I'm always down for a little genuine pathos, but not ones that make me gag at their pretensions.

Hi Suzanne I haven't read any of the comments and I will give you my opinion from a personal standpoint not a design one. My husband and I recently built a downsized home leaving our large family home behind. We converted our formal dining room space into an office as , like you, the space was just never used. That said we made sure we had a kitchen eating area that could house a table that sat 8. Sometimes I wish we had gone larger on our table. I had one custom Made to fit the space and didn't do one with extensions. This coming Thanksgiving will be a bit tight but we will make it work. We also have a large island. We use the island a lot. Currently with Covid as my husband has taken over the office space my work surface has spilled onto the island. However I would never forgo that dining table area. We do still eat there. If friends come over we play cards there. If the kids come for dinner we eat there. It is used several times a week still. We also eat at the island. We use both. However our favorite spot is our screened in porch area which is right off the dining area. We have another table that seats 6 there and weather permitting we eat our meals out there. Our island has a sink. Makes for easy clean up. If I could have I would have had my sink under a window with a bank of windows and left my island free from sink or cook top. That isnt a complaint just something if given the choice I would have done. Our new floorpan is very close to the second one you've shown. It is perfect for us.
