I don't have a lot of experience in problems with mature adeniums. I'll give it a shot, though--the caudex could have withered/shrunk from lack of water. Place the pot in a bowl of water and let soak for an hour. If the caudex did rot, here's what I did with my own plant: I cut between the soft part and the hard part and kept cutting more until I cut all the rot off. Then I covered the cut liberally with root hormone powder and planted in a small pot using my regular soil media. Watering was done by placing the pot in a bowl of water for about 1/2 hour. If you don't have rooting powder then use some form of fungicide--some people use cinnamon powder. I kept it out of direct sun and didn't water again for several days. Again, this is what I did with my own plant. Hope it works for you. -Kadie (p.s.) Your weather is very hot so you might have to dunk it in water after a couple of days.

The first one is the most expensive (of course) and it is the Atlas Shelley pull. I definitely agree that the 3rd one is just as chunky feeling - but since it was angled at the ends it felt visually lighter to me. I thought I would go with #1 at one point this morning - but I don't know if it is too "bathroomy". I would delay and just install myself - but I tried that a few years ago with an entertainment center and it was a disaster - doesn't matter how "easy" it is, my DH and I manage to botch any DIY type thing. :(

I agree with mtn. I would let her know in passing conversation that you are looking forward to meeting your daughter's bf's parents. Just give her a heads up that you will not be having Thanksgiving at your home. It sounds like you guys do a great deal for her. I would in no way feel bad about it. I can see how your husband felt slighted. He goes out of his way for her and it seems maybe she doesn't always reciprocate or maybe acknowledge how fortunate she is to have such a wonderful brother. I too sort of liked Virgin River. Formulaic but not too bad, at least the woman doctor isn't insipid. I have watched the Kominsky Method both season twice. There is a poignancy there that speaks to me. Watched "Gentification" this weekend and loved it. It's more than half in Spanish with subtitles but takes place in the US/Los Angeles Boyle neighborhood. That didn't bother me. I found its message about struggling as an artist/creator and trying to keep neighborhood traditions alive in changing economic times very relatable even for me in a small midwestern town. A tad stereotypical, but what TV isn't a tad stereotypical. Pick your poison. Bear in mind this is just my .02, but I loathe "Mrs. Maisel" let me count the ways. Sophomoric is one that comes to mind. Great eye candy but oh so Disneyfied do don't call it ground breaking. And as a Jew, I find it a terribly insulting lame self-parody, and that's being kind. No reflection on the talent in the show though. My grandkids turned me on to "Stranger Things." So far so good but I'm not very far into it. For sci fi fans mostly though. I gravitate towards escapist things with a strong dose of humor but I'm always down for a little genuine pathos, but not ones that make me gag at their pretensions.
