I went to a place today called "The Great Indoors" They were closing the store (just like every other store in that poor strip mall today) I hit the jackpot! I bought 21 knobs that were priced $6.79 a piece and I got them 90% off at only .67 a piece and 6 handles that were priced $12.45 a piece for only $1.25 each. Total for the entire kitchen cost me under $25! Should have cost over $200!

I will second what pussuskattus suggested...although it is definitely more work/time, we found that it was very worthwhile to mock up the drawers and try out our handles that way. We ordered various sample sizes of our handles and DH cut some scrap wood planks in the lengths of our drawers. We then just placed the handles on each board and it was VERY quick and easy to determine which size to go with. It was surprising what we found...definitely some different outcomes than what we had thought before mocking up. There would be no need to cut wood, though...could easily just use posterboard or scrap cardboard from a shipping box. And the ribbon idea would be easy, too. Would save the step of buying the pulls if you don't know for sure yet what you want. Good idea for next time! Good luck with your search on the vintage pulls!

The only appliance we paneled is the DW. With the panel, it looks identical to the trash cab on the other side of the sink cab. Both doors have the same handle/pull as all the other doors/drawers, but for those two doors (and the over the fridge cab) we used the 12" size pull (8" on almost all the rest). The fridge and the stove; KA built-in and Wolf range, are not paneled, and have their own factory-installed handles. IMHO, they all look fine together.

I was wondering about this myself. I also have an island where there are 3 fake panels and one working cabinet door. I think it's going to look strange to have just one pull on that cabinet, but I also don't want people to bang themselves on the handles or try and pull on them as mentioned above. My DH is a function over form kinda guy and I am definitely a form over function kind of gal...have a feeling there will be pulls just for symmetry. I also am weird about seeing things symmetrical!
