how do I conceal an uneven 'bulkhead' over my cabinets?

I installed (myself) some new Maple American Woodmark cabinets in my kitchen. The cabinets are flush against a "bulkhead" (not sure what to really call it) that contains ductwork along the ceiling. The CABINETS are level, but the bulkhead is not, therefore, along the left end of the row of cabinets, you can see a gap almost 7/8" in height, where they're flush at the other end. Even when I tried to use a quarter round type moulding to conceal it, it looked bad due to the unevenness of the bulkhead.

I hope I'm describing this right...

Any ideas on how to fix this? Again, the cabinets themselves are as level as a priest on Sunday.
