Sounds to me the wire you describing is copper. Copper is great to sell to a scrap yard and get quick cash. As far as the water bottle, fill it up with change to save money to buy more garden goodies at flea markets, yard sales and so forth. Or you can take it and fill it up with marbles, all sizes and colors.

You're doing perfect, as far as I'm concerned. Give them a good week or three in the greenhouse until your temps are stable in the 70's and then pull them out into the shade for a few days before moving them into the sun. As long as they have green canes, you'll probably see them just burst back to life. Once they are happy and healthy again, plant them just like a larger rose. Don't expect them to stay small. Miniature refers only to bloom size. The plants can range from 12" to 3-4' in height, based on my experiences with 'grocery store minis', that is to say the Parade roses or the like that don't have individual names. If these have names, you will want to look up the varieties on HelpMeFind.com or ask here about them specifically, to get an idea of how large they get. I have some perfectly beautiful 3'x3' minis that were un-named varieties. I have one that gets to 2' wide and about 4' high before I whack it back down to 1.5' again. HATE compactors: messy, noisy, & the trash gets too heavy. While we do have garbage disposals, we use them only for bits from prepping & very liquid waste that would be a problem in a trash can. We now have 2 pullouts, each having 2 plastic trash bins that can be easily removed, one bin for trash & the other for recycling. One pullout is in our cleanup zone, next to a dishwasher, and the other is on the opposite side of our island, near refrigerator, prep zone, & pantry. The bins get emptied into big covered & wheeled carts (outside) that our city supplies for waste collection. I think the decision really depends on your trash & recycling collection situation, your kitchen layout, and personal preference. Compactors are not a "must" item these days for resale or convenience.

No, dena, it isn't poison ivy, not even close. John, I think blackberries are one of the plants that will tip root, so if you put a pot of nice soil where you can bury the tip of the stem or place the stem tip under a rock on the surface, you may get roots growing into the pot that can then be transplanted. You won't know the berry quality until it actually produces - they can vary from good to almost entirely seeds, so it's a bit of a gamble.
