Hi D! Your statue appears to be the work of the famous French foundry of Eck and Durand (c. 1840-1863). Their work is represented in the collections of the National Portrait Gallery, London and the Art Institute of Chicago. Upon the death of Jean George Eck in 1863, Durand withdrew and sold the firm. Many of Eck and Durand's works were later recast by Victor Thiebaut. You may need to have someone familiar with bronzes in general look at it to see if it is an original or a recast. I wish I had some info on your table. All I can say is that "Blackmoors" are always a hot and in-demand subject in the antiques and interior design markets. I'm jealous! I hope this helps!!! Baer

Yes, I do know what mine are made of... I guess I needed to be more specific that I'm not asking about what/where the figures I have... I'm wondering what the origin of the original might have been, and if anyone has ever seen another. Lindac-- Good to know someone else thinks it's a carnival prize. I actually already had that tray, and it's a coincidence they all fit perfectly. If I came across another in red, I'd buy it. Sunnyca- No cushion... maybe just the shadow you're seeing? No markings anywhere on original. I will try being less politically correct in my search and see if that makes a difference... thanks!! Someone emailed me information on Esther Hunt and Joe Celona-- looks like they made somewhat similar busts, so maybe that is a clue to the time period. Thanks for the responses!!

Hear about the people who called their burro "Xote"? Really!! And of course the female is called Dulce. I'm not sure what info you hope to find....it's not a manufactured item...likely it was made in Toledo ( as in Spain not Ohio! LOL!) and is a one of a kind, made by an artesan likely for the tourist trade.... Why would you have it appraised? An appraisal is someone's educated guess as to what it's worth...unless you arew anting to settle an estate of schedule it on your insurance....there is no need. The co0mbined knowledge of the people posting here is greater than any appraiser you will find. The only advantage to a certified appraiser would be that they would (maybe!) know the market in your area. Linda C
