I love your Armoire and the idea of one for bathroom storage but I would worry about the steam. I like the shield mirror in the dark finish against the pale pink walls. It would easy to match that mahogany/cherry finish on your vanity with just a coat or two of MinWax Polyshades in a cherry or mahogany shade. it's a polyurathane fiinsh with a transparent glaze. I have used it to seal unfinished furniture and to darkened light wood finishes. just a light scuff sanding and cleaning needed on finished wood. try a few coat inside the cabinet door to see if you like it and need more than one coat. ( it took several coats on raw wood to get the deep shade I wanted.) It's lots easier than sanding priming and painting several coats to make that wood tone white. if you darken the vanity it will be easier to change the drawer hardware if you pick something that doesn't fit the current holes. We found our 1970s hardware was not a standard size when we redid our bath, that added wood filler and sanding to making new knobs work. You can add some decorative storage with a wall cabinet with towel bar on the wall next to the vanity since you don't have a medicine cabinet with that mirror. Even some open shelves with baskets or planter tins from dollar store can hide beauty supplies and be decorative. (pink depression glass candy dishes or apothocary jars?) Once you add some more color with linens ( deep rose and moss green florals?) the wall color won't be over whelming.

We have waterlox on our floors, and to recoat we just clean with TSP cleaner and mineral spirits, we don't even sand. Waterlox has tung oil in it, but your new tung oil is probably breaking down the surface. It's always safest to call the experts, I wouldn't use acetone unless the experts told me to use it, you will take some of the old waterlox off, and I'm not sure you want to do that, I think you can clean up the tung oil without starting all over.

You could add both - I know Lena said it is not necessary (and it isn't an absolute must), but anything that will make the mix more porous is a plus. Especially if you are heavy waterer or if your plants are outdoors where it rains more often. I don't remember if you mentioned your general location (it is good to indicate by your name - as you can see most ppl do); I am in Ontario, Canada and have to bring plants inside for the winter but keep them all outdoors otherwise. All my succulents are in a mix of grit+perlite+turface and have been for almost 4 years now.

To answer questions, I was able to add more pictures. Here is where the chandelier will hang. It is centered in the room. This is looking into the bath from center entry between closets on left and right. The room is roughly 20ft left to right, with shower and my vanity at opposite ends, and 12 ft from the entry to the back wall alcove where the tub will sit. The blue tape is stuck to the mount where the light will hang, and is 36" long just to see proportions. My husband standing under it is still a few feet from his head (he is 6'3"). Ceilings are all sots of height as you can tell but roughly 10-12' max. The chandelier above is L29w29xH32.5. Or they have a smaller one 25x25x28. Which size?? Oh and I don't have pic of the vanity as they are covered. But the suggested pics above of dark vanities is spot on color. My larger vanity is to the right here buried under the ladder etc.!
