That show and those people are such . . . I don't know . . . low lifes? . . . (sigh!) I guess, the only thing that I can say about them ~that won't get censored here~ is that I am so, so glad that I can totally NOT relate to their values, lifestyle or problems . . . and thank goodness for that! I've never watched one show, but have seen them interviewed on other shows and watched clips from it a number of times. That was enough for me . . . yuk!

Actually, some of the items weren't all that bad. I didn't realize in a bankruptcy they could make your sell your home furnishings. They have to sell the kitchen stove? Their bedroom furniture?

I'm sortof glad because they did spend way over the top and knowing they were in financial trouble is just plain wrong. He bought her a huge yellow diamond ring for their anniversary and mentioned several times on the show how hard times were right now. Oh, but it's ok to spend $$$ on a diamond ring - how about just telling your wife that you love her and when things get better you'll buy her an anniversary present?

I'm thinking that ring is back at the jewelry store??

WOW....I've never seen the show so this was "interesting"....nice Wolf range.....and 42" TV and.....and....!

There was one show where they showed Theresa shopping at the furniture store and just pointing and saying "I'll take that" and "I want 2 of those", her choices pretty much reflected randomly picking things that screamed "chateau".

For those who love these shows and live nearby, think of the provenance factor of owning a piece from this collection.

They are the epitome of wanting what the "Jones'" have next door.

It's all so faux-tastic! ;D Bless her heart, the show last week was painful to watch. It's like Joe knew he couldn't spend a lot of money on their anniversary, but has her saying all the things she said. Was she so out of the loop she had no clue? Or did she just not care. I also wonder how much of the anniversary copter ride, dinner and gift were given to the show.

fwiw, I'm not convinced that was a yellow diamond. It was not a high quality yellow diamond, that's for sure. DD2 recently got engaged and before she went shopping with him, she asked me to go with her (so she would know what was in his price range and not be embarrassed by trying on anything too large). Anyway, there were these rings with stones that were darker than normal (to my eye) to the yellow diamonds they were next to and sort of a greenish tint to them, so I asked the lady what they were. She said they were treated (article linked below) and that they were way less than true yellow diamonds and they sell a good many of them.

Another thought, maybe like most of the things in the house, the ring was also faux.

Between Jersey Shore and NJ housewifes and Sopraino's (misspelled) you would think all Italians love golden. Golden is a little higher than gold on the color chart.(lol)

I'm with Natal I would take the stove. Don't feel too sorry for them, they will make a mint at this auction. Can you imagine what the parking will be like?

When you download the catalog( 13 pages) you will see alot of faux,veneer,laminate and costume jewelry. Also kids toys, cradles and beds .Makes you think that all that stuff was just used as props for the show.On page 10 you will find their wedding rings...Who has a show on TV that ends you so broke that you sell your wedding rings ?? Better get some birth control.. They've got 4 weddings to pay for.......

Frankly, I was a little disappointed that the "Suit of Armour" wasn't made of vienna sausages.

I looked but missed the catalog. I will have to go look again. I like the leopard sofa and the suit of armor. Maybe I will go. :)

I have never seen the show. You can't really count the show the jersey shore I don't think. I thought I heard most of the cast isn't even from NJ.

There are something you just can't take out of a Italian jersey girl. For me, it is big hair. I am just waiting for it to come back so I can break out the hairspray!

All I can say is, if all that resin doesn't sell, the jersey landfills are going to be on overflow..Mamamia! I liked a few things, but wayyyy too 'ostentatious', and probably too expensive(though not worth it!)for my home. Do like the kitchen cabs and area rug in the MB bedroom.

I like the club chairs that are with the leopard sofa. They're kind of funky.

I want you all to know I blame YOU for this...I was a proud Real Housewives of [Wherever] virgin. But having been intrigued by the RHofNJ Discussions thread, when my girls started watching the full day marathon of the show at our beach rental last week, I made the fatal mistake of paying attention just for a moment. You know the sorry result-I'm hooked.

And I fear it's not just those Joisey girls. I have this vague wandering question in my mind: who is Bethenny? And why does that show have a question mark about her getting married? And if she wasn't married how was she a Real Housewife of NY?

Go to Target, or see if you can rent the DVD of the RHofNY. I don't think it would be the same to just jump into last season. They argued ALL the time. I hope next year they are done with that! Bethenny has always been my favorite. Love her way with words. ;D

I'm from NJ. From a town near the one where some of them live. I have to admit that I laughed and made fun of some of the women on the show because they backed up my stereotype of nouveau riche Italians in NJ.

Is it strange that looking at the catalog makes me feel sorry for them? This couple clearly had no financial education. They grew up thinking they could live beyond their means. They had a marriage where communication clearly wasn't clear and open.

I still find their consumption and mannerisms totally unattractive, but I feel sorry for them now.

Maybe next season will be called "Bethenny Getting her #@*& Together?" I love Bethenny. On OC, I love Gretchen. On NJ I liked Dina, but she left the show (smart cookie, that one).

According to the NY Times, those reality show stars are holding out for big bucks. Instead of $25,000 per episode for the whole cast, they're holding out for that amount per person per episode. Will reality TV be just as expensive as sitcom TV?
Which makes you wonder why Theresa is filing for bankruptcy.

Even if they get $25,000 an episode, there's only 6-7 in a season, and when you're 11 million in debt, $150,000 is a drop in the bucket. She probably only sees 60% of that anyways after taxes.

One can always hope! I'd love a return to "real" scripted shows rather than all this mindless fluff. While dh was out of town the other week I was bored and found myself sitting through 3 episodes of Gene Simmons Family Jewels. I still can't figure out why.
