Father/Husband Troubles

Hi I need some advice. I was married twice before in my second marriage my ex didnt understand my love for my 4 year old daughter from my 1st marriage (basically my exÂs father never said I love you to her, so she couldnÂt distinguish between the love I had for her and my daughter), as a result I didnÂt see my daughter as much because I did want my 2nd marriage to fail thinking there would be too much friction between them. As I mentioned that was my second marriage (which didnÂt work out) and I regret the position I put myself in at that time by letting my ex get in the way of me seeing my daughter (I vowed never to let it happen again).

I am now in my 3rd marriage (she knew all about my situation from the very beginning of the relationship and was very supportive), my 4 year old girl is now 19 and my son from my second marriage is 9, my ex took off out of the country with him when he was about 3 (visiting sporadically for 2 weeks in the summer, where we were able to bond again - that went on for about 3 years). One month after I got married my ex moves back into the country and know IÂm having problems with my current wife. Basically all this blended family stuff is still very new for her, she is very angry with the timing of my exÂs return (although I was very happy to have my son back but a little confused). I initially wanted my son to live with me and my wife (working with children in her profession) said it was a bad idea, it was too soon (being just married), buying a house and said that I should put my sons needs 1st (see him every other weekend as I promised her before my son returned back into my life). ItÂs very hard because I want to begin building my relationship with him and I know it will take longer if it was every other weekend, not to mention that we have the extra room and her parents also stay with us 6 months out of the year.

It is now 6 months later and my marriage at times is hanging by a thread, my wife has the following feelings: (I am keeping the list short)

1) She is resentful of my son because of poor timing because she wants another natural sibling for our 2 year old girl

2) The resentfulness is coming out in different ways; ex. Making poor comments about my sons to me, being selfish,

3) She says that she accepts him but hasnÂt taken him out once and doesnÂt spend any independent time with him

I can say in all honesty that up until my sonÂs return into me life she thought that I was a father without the ties (a single guy) I have to also understand that this is new to her but does it have to be so difficult for me? Should we have another baby with so much adjusting yet to be done? I am angry inside about this situation because I VOWED never to get into a relationship if my significant other didnÂt accept my situation or my children.
