We need to gather the wagons around sistersunnie

She is in need of our support, everyone send words of encouragement to lift up her heavy spirit. Anyone living near her? that could give her a shoulder to lean on? these are trying times for her, she needs to know we are all in there with her, loving her.

I agree. I looked to see if she lived by me, so we could meet up and go "hunting", but she doesn't. I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

I think it would work, though I think he would need to attach the 4 poles somewhere lower down as well with another square. And judging how big roses get, I wonder if 18 inches would be a better size. If you want to avoid welding, I made a pillar using a bicycle wheel instead of a wagon wheel. If you don't have a gonza mountain biker in the family, you can get bent rims at any bike shop for free. I attached the rim to the 4 foot stump of a small tree that died. You could use 4 x 4 pressure treated or redwood, not cheap, sunk in Quikrete or however they spell it. I spray painted the wheel flat black using a particular spray paint primer a metal metal fabricator said to use for stuff outdoors. You'll never see the wheel or the post eventually. If you have access to hardwood forest, you could make rustic pillars from saplings about 4 inches in diameter (uggh, sounds like work).

Actually, Anj, it's old and rusted anyway...but still looks pretty good...so I'll punch holes in the bottom for drainage. Otherwise the water would just sit in it. I have two old boilers and several other metal things with holes punched in the bottoms, and they work well for planters. At first I tried using stones in the bottoms, but finally gave up and punched the holes. Saves a lot of headaches...and lost flowers! DH loved the "Welcome Wagon" idea! ~Sandy~

Trust me, Mama, you need that washer NOW not tomorrow. The drum light comes on when you open the door and off after a few seconds or when you turn off the washer. Yes, you have two buttons - one turns on and off the washer and the other one starts the cycle. You can press the cycle start and turn on the washer but you might not be able to open the door if the washer is on. There are some safety features about when you can and can't just open the door so don't jerk on it when you think the laundry is finished, especially if you have the Fan Fresh option on. After all these years, I still forget once in awhile that the washer door lock is engaged while the machine is ON, even if it doesn't seem to be doing anything at the moment, lol. It's smarter than me, thank God. I can see some Herculean guy rip the door off because he thinks it's stuck.

Thank you for all of your comments. These wonderful ideas are giving me so much to think about. I would love to simply repair the door--I didn't even know that was possible. Who does that sort of thing? The floor in our sunroom is "Kentile" which is a hard, rubbery, impossible-to-clean fake tile. It needs to go as well. We have so many projects to do, all seem financially daunting, but we know that a non-functioning door is something that needs attention. We've lived with it for 17 years, it needs to be dealt with. The pictures of the pool tables reminded me that I have always wanted a game table/chairs set somewhere in the house. We play a lot of board games and sometimes you want to leave them up when a break is needed. This would be a wonderful addition to our house. Would love wicker too, and plants. Can you grow herbs indoors? I have a lot to think about. Thanks so much!

I don't get here much but when I read her post the first thing I did was check to see if she lived near me.
My thought was....I have a car for a reason...and I could use it to go help a sister in need...but I'm in Iowa...just a little bit too for me..
Hoping someone else might be a little closer.

My husband is stabilizing and so are my children at home. I will never catch up on my rest! I'm getting caught up at work and some at home. Maybe when I have more time like this I will find the time, energy and enthusiam for trashing.
