ideamom, If you like this style, try to find a chair that has some curve to the back so it will be more comfortable. These are our chairs, which are very comfy. (Please ignore the striped pink fabric. These will be re-upholstered soon.)

Just played around looking at fabrics online. Only checked out Joanns, so I am sure there are a ton more... but here are a few swatches that looked interesting. Have to keep in mind these chairs will go around an 87" long table that will have a built in bench with cushions all around so I could probably use 3 different fabrics (bench and chair covers, 2 coordinating pillow fabrics). Just a start for fun... While I don't like "pink" , the coral seems to be a nice addition to the color mix (the family room has the lime green and then 2 navy color chairs).

I like the chairs very much, although your table is so magnificent that I see it with a bit more of a formal chair. But, I also think Parson's chairs wouldn't 'stand up' to the beauty of the table. Have you tried them for comfort? I ask because the seat does look comfy, but the back looks very straight. I'm eclectic myself, and am wondering if you'd leave the chairs as is, or paint them before you had your seat covers and tie-on back cushions made? Do you have any fabric ideas? I play around with re-doing chairs, and I love the ones you're considering, but would try to get them for less than $75 each (if the set is 4 chairs). With the 'wings' on these, I would probably just recover the seat, rather than have a long skirted cover, so as not to compete with all that is going on at the top. I bought two of these recently and paid $25.00 for the 2 of them. I did this to them. so you can see what a different paint and fabric can make. The measurements are: 31" tall 33" wide 32" deep My sofa is 35"H and other chair is 37"Hx32"Wx31"D That seems rather short, though from perspective of TV viewing perhaps that'd be OK since when swiveled around it may partially block the view from people sitting at the sectional. It will be placed partially in front of the bookcase so there is still something to draw the eye up. What do you think? It's been listed for 5 days--so I do think I could make an offer. In terms of looks, I'd also prefer a chair with legs, but then there is no swivel and I think the swivel will be more impt. so that it can function both as another chair for conversation and for TV occasional viewing. DH like the little leather chairs that are on a swivel stand and the stand is visable-yech! In 3-5 years when the teenagers move out I can always change it and with the price and fabric I won't worry if it gets worn.
