Hi everyone, I've installed several Toto toilets, use them exclusively in my home and would like to offer some advice that'll address the two core complaints mentioned in this thread: the dripping sound and the flush problems. 1) The dripping sound is due to the Toto's proprietary roughin adapter and how it mates to the floor's flange. One trick I've found is to use a hot-glue gun and glue a zip-tie to the toilet's exit port so any trickling water is gracefully conducted down the zip-tie and onto the adapter. You must be sure the zip-tie is secured onto the 'front' portion of the exit hole and extends 2 inches or so beyond the hole or it won't work. 2) Toto is famous for their flushing. They use a superior 'swiggle' in the exit tube to improve the vacuum. The ONLY cause for a poorly flushing Toto is a flawed installation of the 'waxie'. The 'waxie' is the wax seal used where the adapter mates to the floor flange. If it's moved, even slightly during installation (or even during the toilet's use if the floor bolts are not secure and the toilet slightly rocks), the waxie develops pin-holes that breaks the seal (and thus the vacuum). So, if you don't experience an impressive sucking effect each time you flush, it's the seal. Just replace it. I hope this helps everyone to solve the distracting dripping sound common to Toto toilets, and explains the mystery of why some people love the flushing action of their Toto toilet, while others are forced to use a plunger.

Hi there noopd! You are very timely I must say. I am now at the stage where all this plumbing needs to be installed. Plans underway. Carpenter finished the walls and installed a small window into my windowless room. I enlarged the space to accommodate a 3x5' pan instead of the original plan for a 3x4' pan. I like this much better. I have all the plumping fixtures on site but not installed. Plan View: North Elevation, there will be cabinet changes from what is shown here: South Elevation, again, there are some changes compared to this drawing: 1) Raindance E 420 AIR 2-Jet Showerhead w/ Showerarm. 2) iBox rough-ins x2ea #01850181 (one for the Raindance E 240 & one for the diverter area) 3) Quattro 3-Way Diverter#15930181 to enable 2 shower functions at a time. (not the "Green" version which only serves one function at a time I believe, THANKS MONGOCT!) 4) Ecostat S/E Thermostatic Trim w/ Volume Control #04352000. 5) Ecostat S/E Trio/ Quattro Trim #04354000. 6) Axor Urquiola Face Cloth Hooks x2ea. 7) Grab bars horizontal bar on long side of shower, and a vertical one at entry to shower 8) Kohler cast iron 3x5' Salient shower pan with center drain in Ice Gray. other details in the rooom: 1) Axor Citterio M Single-Hole Sink Faucet, 8.25" tall with handle up/on. 2) Toto Maris floor mounted toilet. 3) Walnut cabinets, vanity and pocket doors. 4) 12x24 tile floor with floor warming system. 5) Stacked Miele W/D 6) Soapstone sink that I will make (I made another sink for my first BR remodel) Other things that are going in is a Fantech system - 2 vents w/lights and a remote 170cfm fan in the attic. One vent will be located in the shower and another near the W/D stack which is near the toilet. Tile that looks like marble 12x24" to the ceiling and wrapped around partial wall into W/D cabinet area. I will be doing the tile, I am nervous about this though. But I have done other tile jobs that are much more complex in layout. I am concerned about the size. I have a leveling system that I will use to help with keeping the tiles flat. It is called Tornado I think. Niche will be installed into the shower space. I am planning on putting it below the shower head and above the shower controls. This is the "cleanest" looking space in my opinion. But I can be convinced otherwise :) Plumber will have to plumb accordingly. Approximation of my materials, the colors might be off a bit due to lighting, and the porcelain marble ended up another brand then shown:

Cheaper and less intrusive: Picture-rail molding that uses metal hooks (some can be very decorative, like Victorian styling, which I believe is where the use of picture-rail molding started). The molding itself can be wood and painted the same color as the wall, and the main thing is that the framed art hangs from the rail, so no nail-pounding and nail-hole-patching. There's a lot of stuff about this method online, so it's easy to Google it and find photos. (You could also do an accent wall with this--special color wall, different color wood rail.) I think the difference between this technique and the website you linked to is that the latter seems more commercial contemporary-art-gallery with all the metal and would require a whole lotta component hardware pieces. And any handyman could put up a wood picture rail.

Hi Vicki, I’m so sorry to see what you’re going through. I did have a good out come with this seller and I actually buy and recommend her products often. Prior to this situation however, I had a problem with a woman who was going to make some custom valances for me out of my own fabric. The fabric was expensive, 20 something a yard, she botched the entire job up and then cancelled the order on me (so I couldn’t even leave a review). She sent me some of my fabric back, but in the end between fabric & shipping costs, I was out about 100.00 or more when it was all said and done. I have to agree that Etsy is unquestionably pro seller, buyers with a problem don’t have a chance. In a perfect world, they would have someone who can act as an unbiased liason between a seller and buyer to help negotiate a fair compromise. The other thing I learned from this last experience though is that the majority of sellers have put a lot of time and effort into their shops. They really do care about finding a happy medium and doing the right thing. My suggestion would be to fight fire with fire and start a thread linking to as many of the applicable former Gardenweb rooms as possible. Share your story, be transparent, name the shop and lay it all out there. Etsy may be pro seller, but my experience has been that the Gardenweb forum is not. I would also head over to her facebook page and post there as well. ETA: The resolve from this situation actually came about after another Etsy seller saw this post and sent a message to the seller I was having the issue with. It ended up being the best thing to happen. Obviously, there was a glitch somewhere but looking back, I can say now that I think it was an honest misunderstanding.
