I took apart my old mattress set and have these bedsprings I can't dispose of very easily. Any ideas for turning them into treasure are greatly appreciated!

I've seen them used as a trellis before. Sorry that's all I can think of. Sally.

Patrick, which code to use depends on the internet site. Different sites require particular types of code to be used in threads. Here, full size images will be displayed using the 'tag' code that is automatically displayed beneath each pic in your Photobucket album. That is how usually post single images in threads. There is also a little check box next to each of your pics, and a button at the bottom of each page to "generate html and img code" that creates a new page with code for clickable thumbnails. Use the first line of code for use in this forum (html clickable thumbnails). This is useful if you have a whole bunch of photos to display and don't want to make pages load slowly for those with slow internet connections. They can then decide to click and wait for a full size image, or not. You should see your picture or thumbnail in the preview screen when creating a post here at GW. If not, check the code again before submitting. Once you firgure out which links work, it is easy. I saw some of your garden on another site and am glad to help. My very first attempt to posting photos

Thank you all for the lovely comments! I really enjoy "raising" this garden. Even though we have been in this house for a while, I have "rolled up my sleeves" two years ago. Treelover, the groundcover between the patio stones are some of my many experiments. First photo - blue star creeper and creeping thyme. Third photo - corsican mint, one of my favorite. It's a very low growing, spreads rapidly. Last photo - miniature mondo grass, not a best choice. I will replant it some place else, and replace with...whatever I can find on sale that spreads nicely, stays green in winter, and low-growing/steppable kind. Will post more pictures later, since now I know how. Yay! ~Natalie

I keep thinking about this. In fact it won't get out of my head! LOL... This one just came to me. If it's bendy as you say, what about: It's vertical, resting on the long side, but it's winding like a wave of thru some wooden poles (like the path that a slalom course would take. Maybe these poles could look rustic( trees maybe. So- bottom line-you'd have like a rusty frito hung up in some trees. OR: could it be the "roof" of a little pergola, maybe let some ribbons hang down from "the roof". maybe some wire whatever-you-could-find stuff that could perch on the roof (a flying pig, a huge cup and saucer so it looks like a giant was using it for a coffee table. hahahahaha (I love to amuse myself-bye-gotta-go-now. I may live to regret that I posted this, cause now you can all see what a fruity place my brain is) Please note that I restrained myself and never even mentioned the giant serpent winding itself thru the thing from front to back, up and down.......:D

Oh, I hope it's not too late!! I just found the gallery!

I passed up a set of bedsprings about three weeks ago and - of course - saw ideas for using them within a few days. I can't remember which magazine it was, maybe Country Sampler Decorating, they separated the springs individually and hung them with more old wire which was adorned with beads. They put small glass vases inside to use for votive candles. They were really cute!!

I went to a really cool, funky store one time and they had mattress springs on the ceiling with grapevines and such twining in and out of them. And it seems I read somewhere of someone placing them on the ceiling and putting twinkly Christmas lights in them - like over your bed? That would be so cozy.

If you still need an idea...I have one. One individual spring that is, that I got at a craft place. I hang some of my antique cookie cutters from it.

I have wanted to make a swinging bed. I've seen them use the bed springs and they have also used a board with a cushion on it. Hooked it to the ceiling with chains. I just don't have anywhere I could put one.
