Walt; what you did would work on most forums, but this one is a little archaic. I took everything between the [img]s and put it in the 'Optional Link URL' field below the message box, then filled in the 'Name of the Link' field. goodground, nice looking tree. How old is it? I wish I had shaped mine with a main trunk. I'm going to prune my potted fig to grow tree-like as opposed to a bush. gardenstate of mind, every spring I add some manure, lime and compost. I just mix them together and place on top of the bed. It eventually works its way down. This past winter I tied the branches together as tightly as I could. Then I wrapped several layers of burlap around the tree...then an old electric blanket (no, I didn't plug it in!) then some roofing paper. I covered the open top with a bucket so the rain/ice/snow wouldn't get in but the tree could breathe a little. I still had some die back but new growth quickly formed. I must say the folks on this site are very knowledgeable and I couldn't have done it without their advice. So feel free to post any questions. Best of luck with yours!

Those are great pics, I think they are the best looking Trachys there are. I bought one 2 years ago the exact same size you have and its doubled in size. They love full sun. If there in shade they will stop pushing up leaves. Also put them big deep pots they have large roots and I noticed they grow slower when they are in small pots. Supra92 -- I just got an email from our fabricator (we used Alpha Granite, btw, and they did a great job -- we only had one seam but it's really well done) and they found a piece 24 x 48" that they're keeping for us -- they're even going to finish the edges so we could use it as a table top or something like that. We'll try oiling it when I get it next week and I'll post some pics. Now if I could just get my dishwasher and new range operational. The plumber showed today but not the electrician so we're still on hold with that til Monday. Is your kitchen actually finished and up and running now? If so, I envy you. And where, may I ask, are the pictures of your stone (and your kitchen)? I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like to see it.
