Yes, I have them on all my drawers, which means everywhere because that's all I have are drawers except for a few upper cabinets with doors. My DH built our cabinets and bought the slides from a couple of different places online. They work great! He is now making a hutch area which has 9 more drawers - more storage - whoo hoo! : )

So, back to the slides... Are your drawer slides under the drawers (versus on the side)? I felt like an idiot today because I was asking for Blum Soft Close drawer slides and I had no idea "technically" how to do it. My cabinet maker didn't say that it couldn't be done, just that he'd never done it but he would give it a try, so now I'm off gathering more information. Thank you so much for the response!

Yes Jaymie, they are undermount, not side mount. It's really nice to open them and not see the slides. Nothing wrong with side mount - we just like not seeing them. : )

Thanks for the compliment on the kitchen. I haven't had much time to check out this forum lately so that's why you probably missed my kitchen. We've been a little side-tracked with outdoor projects. That and I have a serious rose addiction so I'm usually on the garden side of things here. I hope to post pics of the hutch soon and the open shelving.

I LOVE your kitchen, Angelcub. It is one of my very favorites here. My husband is handy, but I don't think he'd tackle building cabinets!!!

So glad you posted your beautiful kitchen. You must be so proud of DH and yourself! How did he mount the inside hinges in the upper cabinets? Do you find you have enough room inside your inset upper cabinets with the soft close? Where did you get your Green Mountain soapstone?

Actually was surprised - for cost reasons I had eliminated the soft close on 5 smaller drawers on the cherry cabinets - but yet they all showed up with soft close. Can't complain about that :)

Jaymie, I know what you mean about the waiting. Sometimes I think it was even harder for me with my DH so close by in the garage. I love the smell of sawdust from wood projects (my dad was a cabinet maker) so I was always checking to see what he was doing and if I could help - you know, speed things along. ; ) I'll be looking forward to seeing your cabs, too!

Thank you, remodelqueen and pluckymama (cute name!). I am really proud of what we have accomplished. Now to finish it! It's actually been 95% done and functional for some time but we switched the fridge location which left a 5 ft. space for a nice built-in hutch. So it was back to the lumber yard. Bet you can guess my DH didn't mind that one bit. ; )

Here's a pic of the hinges. They're from Horton Brass, satin nickel. Really nice quality. They don't take up much room at all. We also don't notice any loss of space from the insets. I think if you're really tight on space it might matter but storage needs can be met with them, especially if you're not a collector of every gadget or don't need three of everything.

Sorry pluckymama, forgot to answer your question on the soapstone. Our GM Original is from Tom Shadley of Shadley's Soapstone in Glendora, CA. He also installed it. We are extremely pleased with it. It's so easy care and looks great. We only have one small seam by the faucet and you have to look really close to see it. He even did the corner without a seam - love that guy! : )
