I painted this today. It's taken from Renee Mullins-Plum Purdy.

I've got a craft show in December, so I'm getting things ready!

-Renee, yep! An heirloom columbine and Geranium macrorrhizum ;-) -Mary Lu, that is indeed rhubarb. I have already made a few crisps from it this spring. Yum! -Susan, correct! That is 'Fireball' Geum, one of the bigger cultivars. It is only one plant- looks like more since the stems on this fellow have a habit of leaning, lol. -serenae, would love to see pics of the arbor you built sometime!! -mandolls and Lynne, thank you! I was thinking the other day how much more personality this one has than the one at the store. Plus it seems to 'fit' better with the look of the garden. CMK

Yes, it was great to finally see the sun, at least some of the time this weekend. What's up with all those maple seedlings this year? I'm a newbie, and I don't remember those last year, at least in this year's quantity. I had a productive weekend, also. I transplanted pieces of hosta that were missed when I transplanted them last year. I've transplanted them every year, so I hope that this is their final location. I also went into the neighbor's woods and helped myself to some daffodils and transplanted them, along with pieces left over from two years ago when I transplanted all the daffodils from the back yard to the front. They pouted on me last year and didn't bloom, but this year they were beautiful! Too bad the deer at some of them before I could get a picture. I also transplanted a crocus that popped up under the spruce tree out back and put it in the front. I re-potted my asparagus fern and Wandering Jew, as well as my two geraniums which I overwinter. I started dumping some dirt on the recessed area in the front where the sewer line was dug up last year. I'll have to plant some grass there. I weedwacked most of the back yard, which of course got away from me again, and got too high to mow (I have a reel mower because there's no way to get a regular lawn mower from my shed to the front yard due to the change in elevation). I took my mother out to get annuals Saturday and planted mine yesterday. And, of course, I weeded. I started digging a hole for the hydrangea I bought, but I haven't decided where to plant the rose campion I bought.

thanks for picking my spirits up. I'm not allowed pets in my place...not even a goldfish. I guess i am just haivng conflicting emotions. I hated leaving OKE but at the same time i didnt want to take him from DH. I felt DH needed him and i didn't want to upset OKE any more then he already was (with how we were over break he knew something was wrong). the week before I left i kept telling him that everything would be okay and that I loved him. When i said goodbye the last day I said "i love you and you will be okay..don't forget me". There is a counselor at work that i have been talking to & is helping me with a lot of these emotions. It may sound funny but i have a stuffed animal (black cat) that I can at least hug before i go to bed each night. SamKaren your resident DJ

Bjorn, it sounds great! What do you mean when you say "rendered stone"? Does that mean it is concrete molded to look like stone? Our barn was white wood, then in the 60s it got clad in white steel. It is still there. The paint has eroded alot, but the steel really has protected the old barn. My DH grandfather and grandmother were from Sweden. His name was Nels. He was sort of an SOB I think, but he died in the 40's. He didn't have my DH son until he was in his early 40s then my late father in law didn't have my DH until he was in his mid 30s. The generations are really stretched out. We are in our mid 60s and we have a daughter that is 26 and a son that just turned 25. Though I have a son in his mid 40s from a previous life, lol. In Iowa there were a lot of German and Swedish immigrants settling here in the mid to late 1800s I'm really off topic now hahaha

Thanks for all the compliments. I'm never SURE of myself when I paint something.
I've got some old sleds I'm doing for the show too. I used some of Kim Christmas's patterns last year and sold every sled I had!

I'm glad to hear that you are having good success selling your items.

Those are both very popular designers, so I'm sure you can't go wrong using their patterns.

Had to laugh at your comment about not feeling SURE about something you paint. I think that is true of all of us! LOL

That's because we KNOW this little line is too thick, or I don't think my shading looks right, etc. etc. etc. As Anj always tells me, we are our own worst critic! Everyone else will think it looks just great because they won't even notice what we consider our boo boos. LOL

Have fun getting ready for your show, hope we will get a preview of more of your projects.
